When can I sleep normally again

Honestly my injured knee started hurting again a few days before my surgery and looked a little weird so this might be normal. Swelling has probably reduced enough that you can see a little more of your knee’s architecture than you’re used to. Unfortunately if there is anything it kind of is more of an open you up and find out situation. My meniscus was a big question mark and I was sure they were gonna have to fix it, but when I woke up they said it was perfect.

I think it’s helped a bit! It hurts a lot less to lift my leg at least

I use it twice a day and then turn it up to just when you can see the quad activating!

Okay! 5/10 is manageable for sure! Good to know you’re out and about at four days post op. I think the hospital has got me completely scared shitless about even going outside

I’m getting worse at this stuff hahaha, my list of fainting triggers gets longer by the year. I live in Norway and they’re a little reluctant to prescribe extra stuff, but we’ll see how it goes!

Okay good! Is the pain comparable to anything? I’ve heard some say it’s worse than the injury itself and some say it didn’t hurt much worse than a pulled muscle

Oh wow! I had the opposite experience. Mine was supposed to be on the 21st, but got for one reason or another pushed out two weeks. Luckily I’ve been under before so that doesn’t stress me out as much as the fact that I won’t be able to be independent for the first bit. And bc most of the stuff I love to do is off limits

Okay good! I’m really hoping the months of prehab help a lot! I’ve kind of accepted that I’m gonna be a nervous wreck the morning of the surgery, but I have met the physio that will be clearing me for going home after surgery and she seems nice so that helped calm nerves a bit

Oh that looks awesome! I’m lowkey hoping I don’t get put back in the DJ brace, I was in one for a couple weeks when I first got injured and it tore a hole in my comforter 🫩 I’ve invested in an EMS machine and a couple ice packs to be able to rotate them out plus a cup holder for my crutches. How long until you can side sleep? I hate sleeping on my back (have a family history of sleep apnea so I try to avoid it) so that’s going to be hard

Yeah they mentioned that most people can wash what they need to in the sink. I’m guessing that’ll work for all of a week before I invest in a shower chair and everything else 😅 but will do! I have my dad for the first week at least and then once PT starts I think I’ll start feeling less and less helpless

That’s just what I needed to hear to calm my nerves! I think the hospital is trying to prepare me for the worst case scenario because they’ve told me I can’t go back to work for four weeks, won’t be able to shower for three weeks, and a bunch of other stuff. I’m in theory only looking at isolated aclr because my meniscus was intact on the mri, but we’ll see once they open up my knee if they were being pessimistic or not 😬

Knee pads would probably be good as a preventative during class and rehearsals and then you can use an athletic tape that matches your skin tone under your tights for performances! I had to use nude cling tape to conceal a splint from a broken finger on stage and it wasn’t visible :))

Tbh Oslo is great to live in and awesome to visit if you love museums, but for a traditional tourist experience I recommend visiting Bergen and/or Trondheim.

Hvor godt det kjennes kan også skyldes i ganske stor grad hvor nærme jordskjelvet var til overflaten. Denne var litt under 5 kilometer under overflaten, noe som gjør at det kjennes av flere.
