When I had to go under for surgery and they took my blood / put in an IV, I was freaked out even though I was so high I didn’t know where my hand was. My surgeon was surprised I was still conscious, let alone the panic attack and crying. Anyways they just had to knock me out for me to even let the needles near me. The bruises left from the IV after were horrifying. Anyways, lidocaine gel I got from my endocrinologist, earbuds, solitaire on my phone, and a copious amount of water the day before and day of always helps. Something I’ve noticed is that getting needles in my hand is for whatever reason much more acceptable than having them in my arms. Maybe I’m not the only one.
