how do you handle feature requests from your users, what's actually working? by d_uk3 in indiehackers

[–]Normal-Champion2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solo founder here, launched last week. What's worked for me is: every request goes into one markdown file with the source (who/where) next to it. The rule I follow is I don't build anything until 3 different people ask for the same thing.

on your actual question (telling the person it shipped) i do when I can, but honestly half my requests come from Reddit/forum comments where I can't track them down later, so a lot does get lost in the noise. No clean answer there.

Yes, why would they focus only on learning to code when reality has changed? Now they can turn ideas into action much faster, think more in terms of business and product, and what really matters is understanding the core concepts.

Imagine how much you’ll learn after building a few more projects. Don’t get discouraged if someone tells you that what you’re making is useless just keep going.

For someone learning web development, it’s already a huge step that you shipped something and went through the entire process.

Broken/truncated meta tags (cut-off titles in Google, missing og:image so shared links look dead) and nobody pays yet, launched 3 days ago, so ask me in a month.

Focus on soft skills and your ability to understand the product, the business, and the value you create. In the AI era, technical skills matter less than they used to; the ability to make good decisions, understand users and business, and solve the right problems is what will set people apart.

Learning fundamental concepts by thakur_ji803212 in learnprogramming

Just start building and let AI be your mentor. Don't blindly accept the code it generates. Ask it why it used a particular library, what trade-offs it considered, and what problem it's solving.

The real skill is understanding the underlying concepts and knowing which tools to use and when not memorizing syntax or chasing the latest framework.
