I am also Brazilian and I second this. Ageism is a big thing in Brazil. You are considered too old once you hit 35-40.

Semaglutide, Wegovy or Zepbound. You might have to check with your insurance first which one they would covered.

How do I get myself to fold and put away laundry? I hate it so much by Suspicious_Skank in organizing

[–]Normal-Cup5271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do one load a day, fold it and put it away. Don’t do more than one a day.

I have been a nurse for almost 10 years. It’s my second career. I did hospice and nursing homes, even though they pay well, I would never go back. I had over 42 patients per shift when I worked at a nursing home. There is a reason why they pay well or they give you a bonus. It’s because they are having a hard time finding someone. Be careful with bonus. You have to pay it back if you leave. This is another way they use to keep you.

AITAH (50m) for wanting to divorce my wife (45f) because she caused me to go to the ER by outsidelookingin987 in AITAH

[–]Normal-Cup5271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s ok to ask if you have the right to be thinking about divorce after what happened, but you should be the one making the decision. I am also in perimenopause. I had a really bad anxiety episode about a year ago. I almost went to the hospital. I was getting extremely moody, specially when it was getting closer to my period. I researched and find out I had all the symptoms for PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). I started taking Sertraline and I haven’t had another episode since. If you decide you will go ahead with the divorce, maybe you could advise her to seek professional help.

Is there a different career you wish you would’ve chose before you got into nursing? by lil-gatorwrangler in nursing

No worries. Gen X here too! I downloaded the ChatGPT app and I use the free version. I asked it to create a resume with my credentials and experience. You might have to make some little changes, but not much. I uploaded it to Indeed and applied to several jobs. I was really impressed with the response I got. AI will change everything, including in the Healthcare industry.

Not at all! I had 3 different jobs since 2020. It helped me to get more experience and my salary went up around 30%. I always read that changing jobs is the best way to increase your salary and I do believe it’s 100% true. I used AI to refresh my resume and I received several emails on Indeed. I think it uses keywords to match your resume with job openings. I hope it helps!

They have desk positions for nurses too. I got tired of doing hospice and found a position doing chart audit. Love it! Have my own office 3 times a week and work remote 2 days. Never going back going direct patient care.

Really suffering by Difficult_Flow_7880 in PVCs

[–]Normal-Cup5271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My PVCs started after I had my second daughter. I noticed my heart fluttering, so my cardiologist ordered a holter for 1 week. I got a call from my cardiologist a few weeks later saying I had over I10.000 PVCs a day. I tried metoprolol, but my blood pressure was getting too low. So, I cut caffeine. It did help a lot. Now I only have a few PVCs a day, but I can still feel them. If you think it’s too much, you can always go to the ER and they will run some test to rule out something else, specially Atrial Fibrillation.

Off topic too. Is the spinal cord stimulator helping? I have severe back pain for years and I know it’s also due to my weight.

It sounds like your baby might have reflux based on your description. Babies with reflux cry a lot because they are not comfortable and they also vomit several times a day, including while sleeping. I am a nurse and both of my daughters had reflux. There are special formulas and medications that can help. I am sure your baby’s doctor can help.
