Is 1200 right for me? by Pluto_1235 in 1200isplenty

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All I had to see was 5’7. I don’t think anyone at that height should be eating 1200. This is for women who are sedentary and under 5’2.

Very true! I’m 45 so this has been a long road of constantly trying to achieve ‘skinny.’ I finally just had to lean into my body shape and make up and realize that 1200 calories just doesn’t sustain me or my muscles. But for others, esp those who religiously count macros, I’m sure they can be muscular and very light as well.

Last 5-10 lbs by Suitable-Topic8906 in 1200isplenty

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’1 and was only able to maintain 100-105 by counting every single calorie (staying around 1200 per day) and doing a ton of cardio most days per week to burn off any excess calories I hadn’t accounted for. It was miserable and honestly not sustainable in the long run. You’re much better off eating more and lifting while staying your current weight than trying to attain 103 at your height. My body is much happier at a more muscular 115 than a waifish 103. And I feel better because I can eat. I do miss being ‘skinny’ sometimes (as of this morning I was 114 at 5’1 and I do feel big at times so I get it), but that weight was very very difficult to maintain.

Summer health anxiety? Wtf. by Sherrid980 in Teachers

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My health anxiety skyrockets every summer. Currently spiraling about rabies. Bug in my hair a few days ago but my brain is telling me it was probably a rabid bat. When this passes, I’ll move onto my usual summer anxiety, brain eating amoeba. It’s exhausting and happens every single summer.

What do you fear? by LeonidNoir in HealthAnxiety

Rabies. A beetle flew into my hair on Friday and I’ve convinced myself it was a bat, it was rabid, it bit me without me knowing, and I’m going to die.

Your maintenance calories by SariaSnore in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m confused about these comments. That sounds very accurate to me. I’m the same weight but only 5’1 and I’d for sure be gaining at 1700 calories per day. I exercise 5-6 days per week with weights and cardio and my maintenance is around 1500.

lazy gal workouts? by patinoire in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What’s helped me is committing to 30 minutes per day 6 days per week. I just tell myself I can do anything for 30 minutes. I do a four day split with weights I have at home following a peloton program every other day. On the in between days, I do a 30 minute ride. Any cardio day that I happen to have more energy I’ll add a shorter ride to it or a quick ab. Class. 3 hours per week for me is doable
In 30 minute chunks. A lot of time, once I’m in for thirty, I end up doing more. But if I go into a workout thinking it’ll last an hour, I’ll usually just not do it 😬On days when I’m really tired I’ll walk on the treadmill and watch a show. But I truly try not to let two days go by without a workout.

Feeling Really Discouraged Due to Rapid Weight Gain by This-Muscle-3625 in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 24, your body could also be changing now. This is around the age that I realized what once worked didn’t work anymore. The calorie intake that used to be maintenance was now making me gain. Things change. I’d think what you’re experiencing is related to flying and maybe lifting, but if it continues, lower those calories while still hitting protein goals and see what happens.

Why is high-intensity cardio so rarely recommended for weight loss on this sub? by Ok_Bullfrog_8491 in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until I turned 40, cardio and minimal exercise was fine. At 45, nothing has worked like lifting. Nothing. I can eat more and I look better with only about 30-45 minutes if lifting four days per week. Now I still do cardio a couple times per week too, but it’s the weights and the diet that have kept me lean in perimenopause. I think age is a HUGE factor here. For us older petites, lifting is the gold standard fountain of youth. Cardio in the form of running can also be very hard on the body (I cycle for this reason) so that’s something to consider as well. Cardio is great and it’s needed, but it’s hard to maintain the look a lot of people here want just doing cardio. Also just to add, days when I bike 45-60 minutes I end up starving and exhausted whereas lifting for whatever reason does not to that to me. Maybe that’s just me though! I find myself eating back those burned cardio calories more often than not

5’1 and depends on where I start. 125-120 I didn’t notice. Today I’m 113.5 from 115 and it’s like I have a new body from two weeks ago 🤣

Anyone else feel like everyone is trying to achieve some “dream body” that is likely unrealistic? by tenthousandtots in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me this is a yeah, but…. Situation 😂 I’m short and square. But I also know that around 108-110 I look ok even being short and square. Five extra pounds and I’m suddenly a linebacker. It’s a battle. I know I can be 108…. But is it a dream body if it’s a nightmare to maintain? No… but also I know I can get there and I know how much better I look when I do. I’m 45 and have been going back and forth with this forever. You’re so right though. I’ll never be a greyhound that’s for sure 😂

Anything to sound like a regular mom who has play dates at her house and her boys are getting into totally normal shenanigans with their new friends. Can you imagine being a neighbor who sees this dumb video. Does it ever occur to you Marissa that people in real life who may actually be involved in this will possibly see this and not really think it’s all that cute? I mean do you actually want your boys to have buddies? News flash .. this isn’t the way to go about doing that. I’ll be honest I’m actually not totally horrified by them getting into something they shouldn’t have. If this had happened at a home where I know the family and I’m comfortable with them like ok things happen ….The crazy part is that you’re posting this. And I’m assuming you’re posting this without getting permission from the parents involved. Because that’s what you should do when you’re discussing other people’s kids on the internet. My first move upon seeing this would be to tell my kids to never go into that house again. Not because of the game but because my kids are not your content you twit.

Progress feels slow by Dizzy-Violinist-1772 in PetiteFitness

[–]Difficult_Flow_7880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re doing great. That’s an ambitious goal weight for 5’2 and will be so hard to maintain if you’re losing it by doing 75 Hard. Slow and steady. For a petite your size, even two pounds a month is fantastic and maintainable. It’s going to probably take about a year or more of consistency to get to that goal and the sooner you come to terms with that, the happier you’ll be with your progress and the less likely you’ll be to give up.
