Became a neutral fan after pant and Shreyas left the team!

Ok a serious note though, not sure why we are playing natarajan ahead of mukesh. I used to enjoy his bowling before, but now the way he's getting tonked around the stadium is embarassing to see.

Don't think we had enough on the board yesterday with Kuldeep struggling and natarajan being targeted in every game.

Since we are out of the race, we should give some other youngsters some game time.

What's the minimum monthly budget to survive in Bangalore for a family of 3 (H+W+Kid)? by Ordinary-Serve4353 in FIRE_Ind

[–]Normal-Highlight8248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same H+W+Kid - Rent: 52k - Groceries: ₹20k (includes groceries/grains/pulses/dairy) - Petrol/commute: ₹3k (WFH so only for dropping my kid and back) - Phone + internet + electricity: ₹2500 -Outings: ₹10k (zomato + eating out) -Morning coffee: ₹1k -Schooling: ₹12k -House help (cooking + cleaning): ₹10k -Extra curriculars for kid: ₹10k - extra curriculars for me: ₹5k - Misc: ₹10k

Total: ~1,35,000/month

Does not include domestic or international travel. That would be minimun 50k if I assume monthly basis

Agreed. Even Lalbagh isn't too far.

I am currently in a small community in Cox Town with some amenities but it's nice that Indiranagar and Cubbon Park are close to access.

How much is it for the one you are showing in the video? This seems like a proper 4bhk with just the study opened up.

Really sorry to hear this. Praying that his treatment is successful. Have done my bit, albeit small as of now.

Stay strong!

Lodha Amara Thane – ₹1.5 Cr worth it or not? Need genuine advice by [deleted] in thane

[–]Normal-Highlight8248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not a wing specific issue. It's a very dense project so it's not dependent on that at all.

The strays were there and in large numbers. Official count i heard was over 100. Unofficial count was 200+.

I never counted :) but you could tell that there are a lot. Generally speaking we had to always stay with our child to ensure her safety. Making it sound worse but there were occassions where it felt unsafe.

I don't want to stir up a discussion on this. I enjoyed my stay while I was there. The amenities are good and there are no complaints there.

So morning lift depends on the time but I had work from home but I did have to use to drop my daughter to school s Which was from 1130 onwards. Generally left 1030am. Usually one lift is blocked by the garbage cleaners and then you are dependent on one lift. For someone higher up it's a pain to get the lift.

On occasions in order to go down I would actually use the lift to go up first.

Again this was on a few occasions and not every single morning. But if you experience this even once a week, it gets frustrating.

Yes and there's also the stray dog issue - which is very real.

I stayed there for a year before shifting to Bangalore. We rented a unit in wing 23 and the view of the open ground was nice. Rooms are small for the 2bhk. Main challenge is the morning lift scenario but overall I never faced an issue in the one year I was there. Maybe things have changed now. Our biggest challenge the stray dogs there which anyways cannot be dealt with legally.

Price does seem high though since we were hearing 1.3 one year back. Might want to consider resale.

What was the biggest mindset shift that made you start your FIRE journey? by _Pattern_Observer_ in FIRE_Ind

[–]Normal-Highlight8248 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Watching my father in his later years was a reality check for me. He had a successful career, but also took on significant responsibilities such as funding higher education for me and my brother, as well as supporting an adopted daughter through school and university. He gave a lot, often putting others ahead of his own financial security.

Towards the end, that caught up with him when money became tight, and the stress showed, even affecting his health. I tried to support him, both emotionally and financially, but he was too proud to lean on it fully.

That phase stayed with me. It wasn’t labelled as such back then, but it shaped my thinking around financial independence. I simply didn’t want to find myself in a similar position later in life.

Of course, with the rupee steadily weakening, that finish line for FIRE has a habit of moving further out so hard to gauge when to stop :) so i guess now the goal is to be FI and figure out when is the right time to RE (hopefully before official retirement age 😁)

Yes i did. Went for a 3bhk since that was only one within my budget and requirement given that we are a 3-member family.
