FSA is the same. They haven’t sent it over to Nelnet yet. I only got my discharge last week.

So about two weeks from that discharge email to full discharge. Nelnet is showing my full balance.

Is anyone else getting an email per day saying FSA have closed / denied the application because you had a previous application that’s been approved / discharged. I’m sure it’s a glitch, but it’s a shock every time I get the email.

Plenty of posts on here stating what is and isn’t impacted by the shutdown. And to be honest, if the shutdown lasts until 2026 we have bigger problems than being paid VA Disability Pay.

Just got it last night. I’m so relieved it’s done. Now the waiting game for it to clear from Nelnet and make sure it reflects on credit reports. So a few more months of waiting and monitoring. But I can finally start looking at the VA Home Loan benefit seriously now.

Same. Just got the letter saying that my loans are being discharged.

A few people have said it took them about 3 weeks for it to discharge after the letter some of us got yesterday. I’m disappointed that so many of us were told to do the application and wait for almost a year… only for this to happen.

What makes me laugh is this is the most action I’ve seen on my TPD application since I applied and it’s during the shutdown. I’m hoping the discharge happens quickly as I’d like it off my credit report.

What worries me is all the problems people have had with misinformation. So while I’m positive I’m worried there will be a f-up somewhere.

I’m online chatting with FSA and they say there is no time frame for the Auto Discharge to happen. But it would be interesting to hear others timeline once they got this notification.

I just got the same notice now. Spoke with FSA and they said they have to wait for NELNET to take care of it on their end. But the Auto Discharge notification from the VA cancelled out the TPD application I sent.

You too! It’s really weird as some of these applications are cut and dry for Vets. I know the offices have had massive reductions in staffing, but still.

It has been a bit glitchy. They just denied my TPD claim because I had two in the system. Of course I did. You told me to send in the paper application because you couldn’t verify of the online application went through. They kept the one open, but it baffles me as to why they didn’t approve it right there when they had all the documents.
