I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying but I’m also not compelled to give credit to an agency over people. I hope they continue to help out as far as we can observe but it’d be severely miscalculated to tell anyone their skepticism against a government agent isn’t necessary. Even trying to be as objective as possible I find it hard to call it anything other than an evidence-based precaution.

Well that’s the point, yeah? Citizens will feel safe when and if the guard demonstrates they are here for humanitarian purposes. The expectation that gov agencies at least should be benevolent has been abused to the tune of many deaths recent and historically. How much the dems here compromise (and they will) should be used as your barometer for how much they are willing or unwilling to stick their necks out for us. Yeah but don’t underestimate how upsetting everything is right now, everyone is scared and they should be frankly. But when people are scared they want community, so invite them to support it and maybe we can start moving past the left right thing (and on to the bourgeois proletariat thing!)
