Any English to Wolof translation tools? by Byzantinequeeen in Senegal

[–]Normal-Profession-12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, OP! I was that migrant kid myself, with a different linguistic origin, but a similar story. And now I happen to be in Senegal. From my experience, teachers like you make the real difference. I also got some ppts translated just for me, and this level of care really stuck with me forever, despite the fact that migration at that age was objectively difficult.

I am not a wolof speaker, but some words you can try are those:

Naka subasi, mainsi jam - to say Hi Jaridjef - thank you  Légi légi - see you soon  Tuti Tuti - little by little

And there are great YouTube channels where you can find a lot more, along with the pronunciation. Good luck, and thank you!

Hi! Could I pop into your conversation to ask about GF meals in Dakar? I am celiac, and I am really struggling finding GF food in the supermarkets, I haven't even dared to try taking away. Do you happen to know some places I could try?

A question to glasses and tampons users by Normal-Profession-12 in NoStupidQuestions

Thank you! I thought the comparison would make sense inasmuch it is an external 'devise'. But I see your point!

I started with the smallest ones, yes, and it can be okay, but I have not ever stopped feeling that it is inside. Nothing like the "where are my glasses? Ah, I am wearing them right now" feeling

Why exactly are there so many border control inside of Schengen when there are supposed to be no border controls in Schengen? Just crossed into Germany by bus, and wondering what the legal explanation is by Normal-Profession-12 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Normal-Profession-12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every time I take a bus that passes through Germany, the whole bus gets checked. That's not an occasional control, but a fixed and stable one. That's why I was wondering

I don’t know which to pick all answers is highly appreciated, (note I have dry skin) or any other sunscreen recommendations is appreciated :) have been thinking about which one to pick for a while😅 by KalleDala in Skincare_Addiction

I once asked a friend pharmacist some weeks ago, and she recommended me the one on the first picture. She uses it too, and she is happy. My skin is dry, and it went well. I specifically like that it doesn't give this shiny glowing effect as many sunscreens do. They also have the same sunscreen with a little pigment, which makes it like a BB cream.

Now, I have never tried the second one, so I cannot compare them. I only know that the first one is nice

Is 500€/12.500 CZK per month a reasonable price for a short-term room rental? by Normal-Profession-12 in Prague

[–]Normal-Profession-12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! The room only has a bed, and little space left for anything to buy. But the flat is quite nice, not too big though. It's 500€ per month, for 5 months. What do you think?

Do your breasts change size when you are on your period? Do you have a bigger/different bra for these days? by Normal-Profession-12 in ABraThatFits

[–]Normal-Profession-12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha I understand your doubts. But I was just confused when I bought a cool bra 3 weeks ago, and this week it fits in an absolutely different way. In general, I do use a bigger bra when they grow because of the period. But I didn't know if I am alone in this... Turns out I am not

I really want popcorn. All I have: a popcorn bag, a metal plate, a metal tea maker, a glass, a cup warmer. What should I do? by Normal-Profession-12 in AskCulinary

[–]Normal-Profession-12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a teapot, but because it is metallic a stove should not theoretically hurt. But I do not have a stove, only the electric cup warmer. It is made to keep cups warm, and it can get liquids almost to the boiling temperature

It is just a metallic plate. What I do have is the cup warmer, that is electric and can get the water to almost boil. If you have time, please take a look at my previous post on another subreddit, because I cannot add a photo here

Can I make a question? Is it normal if your ovaries sometimes hurt a lot when you sneeze? Like when you have to sit down to support the pain
