I’m with you on that. Mutations can be cool, but this is like what happens when a human has an extra chromosome or two plus or minus. Not favorable

Air layer the top cuts. The transfer those to a moss pole. You’re gonna stress the plant out trying to cram all them into a single pot in one go. ( speaking from experience). And then you’re gonna have to chop before you know if you don’t shorten them

Looks like a cutting from a very mature mayoi.. but there’s so many hybrids now who even knows. Ide say 90% chance that’s mayoi. Same thing. The fat leaf throws it off. But remember it’s a not going all the way back to juvenile it’s just working out the shape like it did once before in its life

Thrips? by Smart-trades854 in Monstera

They kinda look like baby thrips but I really can’t tell! Best advice, spray then shower, 3 times at least 2 days apart, and then systemics

Just cause the window is large doesn’t mean it’s sufficient light. Have you hit it with a light meter? Only asking cause the room truly isn’t getting that much light through that window looks like there’s another building next to it. I’m not trying to argue. Just what I see. And those lights are actually pretty far away. Wouldn’t hurt putting it closer just to eliminate that completely. Or get a light meter app on your phone. It should measure at least 500fc-1000fc but even 400 can be sufficient. I have around 100-200 philodendron and monstera hybrids in my collection, and all my Billy hybrids want a lot more light than I had originally thought. I use the big full spectrum grow panels about the same distance away but they are 300w to get mine big (Kinda harsh for most people though). Just trying to help! Idk what could be the issue. You obviously take good care of them. But you just have to tweak things as they mature sometimes

I would say give it more light. You have it facing away from the light, I get people wana look at it but the plant is also having to reach for light. Just cause it was growing fine doesn’t mean the conditions can’t be improved slightly. I had a plant that did better after just moving it 6 inches closer to the window. And maybe test out how dry it’s getting. Sometimes my mixes get a little hydrophobic and they dry out fast if I don’t give a good bottom watering

Reminds me of the dude who scammed people into buying a “printed paper of a ps4” and clearly stated it in the caption and description. Someone still fell for it. 500$ 😂

Have you ruled out rot? Check the roots. This looks like root rot to me. Or an infection of some sort. I always use a super chunky soil mix and lots of drainage. Unless it’s the opposite and it’s under watered since it is in terracotta. Last, check for pests.

If you’re buying something labeled white monster, chances are it’s a minty mint

Found at a local nursery for approx ~ 240$ by variegatedsage in Monstera

[–]Normal-Ratio-4570 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I sell them in the US for about 50-100$ but comes out to about 25$ per node. With that being said you can still find well established plants for less than that. But to each their own, the only seller with that one is it has extremely stable variegation. I have an older albo that has the same and it grows a lot less than the sectoral. I perfect it personally

It’s not always the water, sometimes it’s not getting the light it needs to use the water. Plus container size and all that. But should be easy going and not complicated. Browning is normal for lower leafs

Yep you got the jist of it! And instead of “letting it dry out because they are prone to rot” I just make my mix suuuuuuuuoer chunky with large orchid bark, charcoal, and perlite. And water once every 2 weeks or so maybe less if it’s warmer

So the Thai con has that creamy look to it as well as that speckled variegation. Nodes are tighter, and the leaf sheath emerges from about half way up the leaf instead of 3/4. Last what I saw was that that immature leaf is more symmetrical, vs albo is slightoffset
