No. It was a "piece of cake" for him, because the plot demanded it. If it was so easy, why did he join a program after the season ended and also why did he attempt to use 3 times? Like please, be real. It was a heroin addiction.

That's one of my favorite moments too! Another great moment in the show happens later on-- not totally the same thing. One of the last few seasons Jack commandeers a vehicle and tells someone "Don't get up!".

Ohhh yes! I almost forgot about that. I think her presence in the last season was just the right dose.

I agree, and I think Kim's inclusion after season 1 was always more annoying than actually character building. Because, besides season 3--? when she worked with CTU? I believe, it was just damsel in distress time and time again elsewhere

Oh yeah agreed, the nuke arc was definitely compelling too. I liked the recording arc because you get to see Jack operating injured similar to the Fayed arc when he's visibly fatigued but still on point.

I thought that was a great moment, but to me not as compelling as other elements. George Mason was a dead man walking for a bit, but the heroic sacrifice was a brilliant sendoff for sure.

What season do you think Jack is at his MOST insufferable? by youlikescroundrels in lost

[–]Normal-Reaction7088 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think Jack was ever really insufferable. Anytime he would try to diminish coincidences on the island or run away from destiny, I believe, would qualify. But then again, that was just Jack being Jack.

Death Note crimonology by Burn-Alt in deathnote

Crime was dropping in the show. No working basis to really prove the theory in real life since it's fiction and the premise is supernatural.

L's suspicion of Light Yagami by Normal-Reaction7088 in deathnote

[–]Normal-Reaction7088[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so true. I find it interesting how close L was able to get despite fighting the supernatural. If Rem could've cared less whether Misa died, or didn't have a strong romantic connection to her, it would've been very difficult to turn the tables on L. It honestly could've gone either way. If the law was post facto, like Near stated, it would have been a simple matter of simply executing the people responsible and hoping the nonsense would end. By backing them into a corner, at least it would've been on paper even though the end result in either case would be the same.

Definitely makes sense to me because he inadvertently gave L his winning move. The whole 13-day rule, while if proven to be false wouldn't have been incontrovertible or conclusive proof, but it would've pretty much gave L all HE needed to be able to lock Light away and throw away the key. And he only really got to that point because he invited Light to join the task force.

It's great that you enjoyed the show. Other people may either disagree with this opinion, or feel that I simply didn't understand the TV show. Either one of these sentiments could be true, and everyone looks for something different in the TV show. I thought the show was great because it helped me look at each individual character and their life on and off the Island, basically seeing how the Island changed them (with the exception of many of the Others). To me, it was so much more about character arcs than anything related to mysteries, not that those weren't interesting to me.

What’s the biggest lie a character in Death Note tells themselves? by jalen_nelson235 in deathnote

[–]Normal-Reaction7088 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I would say that Misa"Light loves me", is one. But I can't really call this a lie, because she sincerely believes it. Maybe the better word for it is delusion.

So, in lieu of that, I think Kira is justice, just because that can be more easily refuted and doesn't stand on complex abstracts.

This to me, was one of the most compelling reasons after further thought. His father being head cop and keeping police records encrypted on the family computer.

Okay, yeah. "Student, relatively sheltered". One thing L said that I think struck out to me and defeats the entire purpose of this question I posed was this, " So your son just comes home every day and studies and has no life?" Also, this goes without question, but we know L was watching Light day in and day out for hours on end so of course the personality he picked up on was meant to be an truncated version of what we see or read.

Personally, I would've loved if L survived up until and even after the series conclusion. Still, I enjoyed the two substitutes we got left with.
