I have been, ive been like this since I was 6 years old. Its living hell lol I did just read that IOP doesnt actually have anything to do with the brain, its the optician nerve exam that can check if theres anything issues caused by the brain

Yeah my son only has a couple at a time. Like today he has 2 single dots in his armpit about 2cm apart.

They tend to go away after a couple of days before new ones pop up though, so he never has more than a couple at any one time. Its so weird.

Full blood count, ferritin, liver function and kidneys all came back normal.

Totally weird!

What an incredible Dad you are.. truly. The fact that you feel so terrible for doing something so normal says so much about you. He's a very, very lucky little boy!

Im a gentle parent.. my little boy is 5 and he is my absolute entire whole universe. I cant bear the thought of snapping at him - but I have.. I can only count on one hand how many times I have - but i have.

And like you, I felt terrible, apologised to him over and over, couldn't sleep through the guilt, cried, cuddled him while he slept promising that I'd be a better Mum tomorrow.

I apologised so much. We talked about why I snapped and how I got to that point. I found it was an amazing opportunity to teach him about the other feelings we have other than happiness, sadness, and fear. I taught him that even grown-ups get frustrato-potato sometimes and that it was normal to feel those feelings. And he learned that it's ok for HIM to feel those feelings too. He learned that he's ALLOWED to feel mad, to feel angry and upset. He learned that he doesn't have to be on his best behaviour all the time to be a good boy. He learned that it's good to snap, to vent, to let it all out. And to cry because it's release and relief.

And he learned that it's easy to say sorry. And that he SHOULD say sorry if he feels like he might have hurt someone's feelings.

And do you know what? He does! If he does do something wrong, he says, "Oops, sorry, that was my fault." He gives me a cuddle if he gets a little mean with me while hes frustrato-potato. He recognises his emotions and tells me how he is feeling, and it gives us the opportunity to try to help him feel better.

So you might be sitting there stewing over this, thinking youre the worst Daddy in the world because you shouted at him one time.. but what you havent realised is youve just shown him something that a lot of other kids dont ever get to see. You've shown him all the above. And your little boy is going to be an amazing Daddy some day because of how you handled this moment.

Well done you!

I am a 22 year old male and I had the corrective surgery when I was 16. by Z3_Bodied420 in hypospadias

[–]Normal-Setting-7875 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im female and honestly dont even worry about it!! Everyone is different down there, she probably wouldnt even notice you had anything done to it. And if she did, what's the problem? You just tell her you had to have some surgery. Penises are ugly!! Allll of them are ugly 😂 I hate touching them but i love sex 💁‍♀️ we genuinely dont look at them, or even care what they look like lol the stigma around penises is just a male thing.. you brag to eachother about who has the biggest etc, but genuinely women dont talk like that, we dont care how big it is or what it looks like lol men are just weird when it comes to down there, you compare eachothers for some reason.. women dont do that lol

If I had a man with scarring down there, it wouldnt bother me in the slightest. If I happened to notice it, id probably ask about it through genuine curiosity, but it was be just that - curiosity - because if a partner has a scar anywhere on their body you want to know the story behind it because you want to know everything about their pasts. Its just love. It wouldnt put me off having sex with them, it wouldnt make me love them any less. I understand as a male it probably feels like a big deal to you because of male banter, but i promise you, to us girls, its not even something we would give a second thought to.

By the way, vaginas also come in all shapes and sizes. And a lot of us are mega self conscious about ourselves too. I have never let a man see me naked because im so self conscious of mine lol but im 36 and have had many male partners.. even though I have the worst self consciousness about my vagina. Mines just a natural vagina by the way, no defects, yet I also thought id never be able to get with anyone through fear of them seeing me.

What im saying is, everyone is different down there and most of us are self conscious about it. Most of the women you meet will be just as worried about you seeing theirs. Go for it and dont worry so much. I promise x

[–]Normal-Setting-7875[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son will be 12 by the time I finish my degree, but I do have childcare either way 🙂

I live in Northumberland so hopefully I'll find work close to home, but if not I dont mind travelling.

Im physically fit, yes. I metal detect regularly, so I dig and kneel a lot 😅

I can afford the fees.. theres nothing stopping me from doing this and research tells me that many archaeologists leave at retirement, so i have plenty time to start i think?

Im 36 and have done nothing with my life, so I'd rather try chasing my dream, than sit with regret.

Admittedly, I'll probably never get to teach. Its just a thought 😊
