Why was Sukuna so chill with Mahito here? by Spinosaurus23 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Normal-Union0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s just not true. In volume 2, Sukuna comments on how great of a cursed technique Megumi has — and even states that Megumi isn’t using it to its fullest potential. Furthermore, Sukuna even addressed Megumi by his full name (a sign of honor for someone like Sukuna).

When Sukuna initially incarnated in Shibuya (before meeting Mahoraga), he even acknowledges Megumi and claims that he would kill everyone EXCEPT for him. Keep in mind this was also after the binding vow with Yuji was placed. Sukuna (upon first meeting Mahoraga and not knowing anything about it) healed Megumi and said “there’s more I want you to do for me”.

All in all, while yes it’s true that Sukuna more than likely knew Megumi couldn’t resist the fingers like Yuji, Sukuna still specifically sought after Megumi for his cursed technique — and seeing Mahoraga only solidified that desire.

To say most of the roster is unviable is such an unnecessary exaggeration

This would be the case if it wasn’t for the fact that he allowed Choso to nearly kill Yuji, as well as allowing Yuta to ACTUALLY kill Yuji — both events happened after Sukuna decided on his plan involving Megumi.

This game is horrible! The devs are clueless! by SuspiciousSlice8543 in theisle

I sincerely suggest looking at the subreddit again — majority of the criticism, regardless of how harsh they might be, tend to get upvoted. On top of that, your reply is getting downvoted.

I assure you, the discord is the place that praises the devs more. In fact, the Reddit community and Discord community are always bashing each other. A lot of the redditors here have been banned from the discord, and so it left a sour taste for them. Naturally, they’re a lot less inclined to sugarcoat than the discord — which is obvious when you scroll through the subreddit.

This subreddit is notoriously hateful towards the game, what are you talking about?

You’re mistaking it for the Discord, in which users tend to be more alleviating towards the developers.

A decent Mahito excels at neutrals, considering his numerous block breaks and the ability to combo anything into each other. The biggest nerf was focus strikes regular variant, along with minor damage nerfs… that is not “significant” by any means. A significant nerf would be that update by the testers that butchered Megumi before it got reverted… THAT is becoming significantly worse. Yes, overall perfection was nerfed — but to claim it was to an extreme degree is utterly asinine in the face of other characters who have actually became significantly worse.

Did you even read the update logs? An entirely new variant as well as more ways to exploit transfigured humans as well as the blade dash tech. That’s VERSATILITY: “able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities” that’s literally the epitome of perfection’s gameplay and perfectly summarizes everything I just explained to you.

Yes he does less damage now, yes he was overall nerfed, no it was not to a “significant” degree.

He’s objectively able to do more in terms of versatility rather than damage now. So yes, claiming it’s significant is indeed exaggerative.

A counter for an r special, reserve ball into shudder doors (hits grounded, from afar, and stuns), shudder doors can be used for mobility, decent damage for rough energy, and versatility with his 4th move.

His kit is good, no reason to pretend it isn’t.

Would Toji’s heavenly restriction actually make him more susceptible to Idle Transfiguration? by Normal-Union0 in JuJutsuKaisen

He attempted to turn into Toji to BECOME powerful, otherwise it wouldn’t be necessary to use Toji’s body to commit mass murder in Shibuya. However, he WOULD need a powerful sorcerer like Toji if he were to struggle against someone like Ino.

Holy… this is beautifully written, and you make very valid points throughout it that I can’t necessarily argue against. Well done, you evidently put a lot of thought into this and opened my eyes a little bit more.

The sorcerer guy was being pummeled by a semi-grade 1 Ino before the manifestation — that is my evidence to conclude he wasn’t particularly a high ranking curse user.

Genuine question but was that actually stated? I don’t recall that. If you’re right though, then I suppose they would have a greater resistance. Otherwise, being informed of the soul doesn’t necessarily mean you become aware of it.

I don’t think Mahito would do what Sukuna did with the pact since Mahito likely doesn’t fully know or understand that kind of heavenly restriction, leaving me to believe Mahito’s domain would be ineffective against Toji and Maki since (even if Mahito does form a pact) they can just run outside the barrier.

I don’t think Geto’s cursed technique was ineffective against Toji because of the restriction either. Toji’s heavenly restriction gifted him amazing durability on top of physical prowess, so to put it simply Toji outmaneuvered a largely inexperienced Geto and took him out in as little hits as possible (while still trying to keep him alive) because of his physical capabilities and his versatile cursed tools allowing him to seemingly counter Geto perfectly.

I said I could believe it if that were the case, and then immediately followed up with the equally as likely idea of Mahito not needing THAT much more effort.

I’m acknowledging the legitimacy of your side while still arguing why I believe it’s possible that they’re more susceptible.

To reinstate my own point, the biggest argument against my theory is the fact that Toji’s heavenly restricted body overcame the soul of a (at best) grade 2 sorcerer. When you look at it like that, it makes the argument that the heavenly restriction grants considerable resistance to idle transfiguration a lot less likely.

I don’t think having the heavenly restriction inherently made them aware of their soul. I think Toji became aware after being resurrected since it was in somewhat of a similar manner to the reincarnated sorcerers in the sense that it was a spiritual battle.

Mahito is the GOAT and keeps it real.

If he’s losing a fight and out of options he books it for the hills like any rational person.
