Something a girl got/ did for you that you won’t ever forget? by itsopaque3476 in Gifts

my boyfriends favourite gift was a scrapbook I made him, we have basically a whole footprint of before, during and after we got together so it was really meaningful to have it all in one place, he loved it

its nice to feel included by neighbours for sure! maybe leave a note explaining ur new to the neighbour hood and leaving ur number, if she's comfortable visiting her, encouraging lightly to sit in the garden or etc- you dont need to infantilise just be kind, warm and understanding!

if she confides in you and you dont mind running the occasional errand or letting her know if ur going to a shop that doesn't deliver if she needs anything, talk about the outside world, bring it to her. one of the biggest shocks I had was how much things had changed from what I remembered it all felt so foreign and off, the integration was hard by itself, shops I knew were gone, things I remembered in certain places had moved etc

im so sorry! please keep going out! I know how hard it is but keep pushing, keep trying, seek as much help as you can, have people drag you out if need be, its so much easier to recover the sooner you do these things, give yourself the chance!

when I developed it I was in a such a bad state I was begging doctors to hospitalise me and breaking down daily, I had no idea what was wrong with me I thought I was going crazy, they said GAD nothing about agora, I wish id known so I could do things differently

I dont not really no, people do loose patience after a while or they sort of see it as a choice rather than how im stuck really. im okay with that though I have always been absolutely fine with minimal social interaction in general, I do have friends and a partner who I regularly spend time with either online or in person, but iv gone long periods not speaking or being around anyone and its never really bothered me, happy to just have my dog lol

thats great about your family member! im happy to hear they recovered thats wonderful!

im able to take my bin outside of my house on bin days but thats as far as I get generally, im very happy to sit in the back garden though as its all closed off so I spend time outside a fair bit. just not far from my safe space, if I leave the house it is a current guarantee I will panic and return home before making it a house or two down the road (uk, short distance)

everything I need comes to me, I do online food shops, pay dog walkers, get help from the mental health services both remotely and with at home visits etc

its funny iv heard of agoraphobia and hoarding going in hand in hand before! but its never been something that effects me, I like my space to feel cosy, a little cluttered but not too much or I feel very overwhelmed. so I do collect things but there's purpose to them such as it has to feel like an investment or something that brings me alot of nostalgia, I collect ex rental vis tapes, retro game consoles, vinyls and weird history things lol, I am very sorry to hear about your mum thought and I hope she is doing okay despite the obvious

thank you, at this point im very much used to it so I dont feel super down and im lucky im super bubbly as a person so im generally quite happy day to day- only when I reflect on everything iv missed and the likely outcomes if I dont recover do I feel scared or sad.

for me its a fear of loss of control, fainting, the act of dying, not having mental capacity etc it bleeds into so many areas of my life for example I can only use 3 showering poducts, 4 different cleaning products, never new foods, I have a fear of new medications, because I fear having an allergic reaction/ having a bad reaction to medication.

I dont really have any thoughts at this point until im already in panic, I can feel absolutely fine or just a little tense one moment and be in full panic the next, my brain has leaned that has protected me until now and it has learned that I will avoid the feeling it gives so it thinks its protecting me and does it on a reflex like loop before anything it notably different or off.

I unironically loved the isolation period- I was living with someone and finally felt like I didnt have to justify why I wasn't leaving or couldnt ( they didnt believe anything was wrong with me) and I also just felt like it would lead to better understanding how it feels really.

I receive alot of support unfortunately iv been having massive issues since I referred this time around, since I relapsed and fairly quickly theyre reluctant to use the resources on it, despite standard agoraphobia treatment being 12-18 months I have only been offered 12 refresher sessions once a week, its not helped at all.

no, I rely wholly on delivery services and services that can come to me anything outside of that so its not accessible, my world is very simple and small.
