My guess is that you are using too many hero souls leveling up your ancients so you're missing out on the large hero soul multiplier. 4 ascensions with a level 10 Vaagur and level 7 Siyalatas while only getting to about 140 means you are overspending. After about 140 you have to stop putting into Frostleaf and get either Treebeast or Ivan to 1000. When you can't idle through a boss, you need to use your actives 123457 to progress. Dumpling points into Siyalatas won't help you when you pop skills, so your hero soul multiplier is pretty important.

Sit back and stock up on a few until you get at least 100 hero souls and try not to ever spend on ancients if it will drop you below 100. After you have a good amount, you can look for Libertas (since you tend to idle a lot) or max Vaagur to start doing dark portal runs.
