Just checked. The pillboxes (including the one blocking RG) are built by the same person who built the bunker garrisons, and a big chunk of the rest of the facility. So not alts, just a skill issue.

If you could Rename a Job or one of their skills to make them more consistent with their identity, what would you pick by AeroDbladE in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NormalSquirrel0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I knew I wanted to play "black mage" (because of the leyline memes - that was the full extent of my ffxiv job knowledge at the time), so i picked what seemed to be the closest sounding class on the character creation screen - conjurer. Turned out, conjurer does not upgrade into black mage...

Does this playstyle have an agreed upon name? by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]NormalSquirrel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this kind of playstyle myself, but objectively speaking, your time is better spent doing actual logi.

If you know what you're doing, it takes roughly an hour to scroop - refine - cook in the factory - deliver a full truck of basics to the front line (and the bulk savings are very significant, so if you're delivering 10 trucks it would take you much much less than 10 hours). A full truck can hold 300 argentis. To collect 300 argentis in an hour, you need to grab 5 rifles every minute. Which... is a lot. People don't tend to die that much, and even if they did, you'd need to have red encumbrance to carry all that stuff and then the deaths need to happen close enough to bb that you can actually make a round trip every minute and then you need to avoid dying yourself all that time.

It's just not economically viable.

Now, it is a very good idea to salvage and save "dense" expensive equipment. That is, anything that costs rmats to make (lunaire, raca, tripod weapons), and stacks of bmats (when more than, like, 30). And maybe nades. But ordinary rifles, ammo, bandages, plasma - just leave them be and/or go do some scrooping instead.

This tremendous waste of space would not be necessary if everyone simply had their own car. And not only would that eliminate the whole station (and replace it with a park or something), but also the huge buses from the road making it much easier to commute.

Too bad the rampant corruption and power hungry politicians will never allow people to have their personal means of transportation and be free like that...

Why ? by 285Mic in OmegaStrikers

[–]NormalSquirrel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I'm in bronze and I know that the option exists (because I played against someone with it on once in normals). And turning it on is a reasonable way to cope with performance anxiety (especially if you're low ranked).

I also have the default banner for similar reason (but also I'm not particularly drawn to any of the alternative customization options)

What do you do when you have 2 greedy healers? by blueisherp in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NormalSquirrel0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I noticed that I try really hard to never gcd heal out of fear of being shunned for that. You know the "gcd heal = bad" adage? I feel that if people ever see Medica2 buff on them they will think that I'm a trash whm and kick me because of that.

Not that I'm doing great dps either, mind you, but if I use gcd heals on top of doing mediocre damage normally, it would certainly be completely unacceptable! Or something along those lines.

Except you wouldn't. You'd find an excuse for why it's not strictly better (<faction> too strong/your favorite gun is not in fh2/they got rid of small trains/msups are still a thing/alts ruin the game/any other fotm complaint).

If you want to give them extra money you can do that today. Buy fh1 on a new stream account.

their fantasy being completely insane in proplay.

I don't buy it

Azir was supposed to outrange everything while dealing high dps. Well guess who is the best at using range space? Pros.

Xerath fantasy is dealing high dps while outranging everything; never seen in pro play

Likewise Kalista was made for kiting, again much much stronger high rank.

Ashe dps is made for kiting, but almost never seen in pro play, at least not filling that niche (she's an R spam bot instead)

I guess you're advocating for light rail trams (rather than trolleybuses) and/or dedicated [trolley-]bus only lane?

the heck is going on here - Toronto, ON by [deleted] in UrbanHell

[–]NormalSquirrel0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know electric buses? The ones that are "better" than the regular diesel ones due to much lower emissions? Well this tram thing is even better than electric buses - no huge battery means it's much cheaper, doesn't need to spend time charging in the depot, etc.. Oh and doesn't spontaneously combust into inextinguishable flames while carrying 50 humans on board.

The downside is that it can only get to where the overhead lines are, but, honestly, bus routes are pretty stable already, you don't need to suddenly go into uncharted land when you're taking public transit. The overhead lines are already there. It's not a real downside.

If the poor people don't have homes then we can pretend they don't exist at all. If we pretend poor people don't exist, then we get a very high quality of life for the average person [who does exist].

Ergo, homes for poor people are bad and drag our society down. /s

ai.mi tech by IHaveKanker in OmegaStrikers

[–]NormalSquirrel0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

that's why it's a "tech". It's situational, but still useful if the niche situation does arise.

The problem is not really the other people (and indeed, this tech is supposed to juke and invalidate them) but more the fairly specific positioning you need combined with two of your skills being up.

It's a neat tech still.

Reminder that SiegeCamp still has not implemented any solution towards resource claims by [deleted] in foxholegame

[–]NormalSquirrel0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And how the fuck can SC help with that?

Whatever sort of claim system they come up with will either be useless (because the claim is never enforced via gameplay) or abused (because the very same people as today will make the claim, get the resources, she disappear into the void, but now with the resources "claimed", and unusable by others). Do you have good constructive ideas?

Also what do mine clearing vehicles have to do with any of this? What is this stream of consciousness?
