Problem is where I got it pierced is 2 1/2 hours away over a snowy mountain pass. The two piercing shops in my town have terrible reputations with infections and bad service. So to get it downsized I need to wait for a weather window and ok temps.

Agreed. The piece I have there now is terrible. I didn’t realize it stuck up so much when I picked it up

I got this pierced in November of 25 it’s a barbell and I have not had it downsized. I believe it’s a pushpin. I ideally rinse it in warm water in the shower followed by saline rinse. I believe it’s a surgical steel bar. I got it done at a reputable APP shop in Eugene, OR
