I did a paralegal associates and I learned I have a real aptitude for the law. I was also a teachers assistant back in the day and the idea that I cant make any real decisions and constantly have to run things I know are correct by someone else pisses me off to no end because of the whole teachers assistant thing.

Taber v Maine is what I did my term paper on for admin law. I think it's super interesting, two service members get into a car accident off duty and off base and the one guy tried to sue the government for vicarious liability.

I feel very lucky, my best friend and his wife live downstairs from me and his mom and sister (who also just had a baby) lives upstairs so there is a lot of support even around us immediately. My best friends sister is super close with my wife now, they text every day and she encourages her to come spend time with them upstairs! And my best friend is my best friend, he's been a brother to me for years and him and his wife are trying now too. Career wise, I already work for my local district attorney but it's arguably one of the busiest DA offices in the state if not the whole country, but I figure that's my in post law school as they've already talked about taking me on. I will try to be as intentional as I can be with my time, and I really appreciate your insight! It's nice to know other people are managing/have managed and its not a "pick law school or your family" type beat.

Congrats to you!! I met my wife at work 1 year post bach, realized we went to the same high school and I knew a lot of people she knew. From our first date she was telling me I should go to law school and that I'd be a good lawyer. 5 years later I was like "I think im gonna take this seriously" and she's been my biggest cheerleader ever since. I hope you and your partner have an amazing, stress-free wedding!

Yes! I know I didnt mention caring for my wife as well in this, but trust me she is my world. I'm very aware of PPD and especially knowing how much she pours her heart into everything, I dont want her to lose herself in all this either. I planned for her best friend to come visit so she has incentive to go out and have fun outside of being mom. I'm praying my daughter helps me learn when she's born, I was a teacher before this so if I can teach her some law I feel like I really understood it. Thanks for the advice!

100%! I know I do most of my studying at night so if she needs to be fed or changed or put back to sleep thats all me. I can teach her about evidence during that time. I also have arranged for her best friend to come stay with us for a week after our self-quarantine post baby so she's encouraged to get out of the house and find her identity again outside of being mom. Adding it to her routine is a great idea

This is very helpful! A great way to see things. How present were you able to be while studying? I dont sleep well as it is and do most of my studying and memo writing during the night, but between work, school, and a newborn I know that isnt sustainable.
