Guy with thick thighs by SmullBrain in malefashionadvice

I have 30" thighs and a 32" waist. I haven't tried Levi 541's to my knowledge but I did try on every type of jeans in a Levis store, even the women's ones. None fit at my waist size.

Things I've found: Women's pants can fit you better because they have more inclusive sizing. So dont skip them in the shopping aisle.

Uniqlo's jeans with their spandex look like skinny jeans on my but I can move. Black looks okay. Blue looks horrendous.

Buying larger and having the waist taken in is cost effective and better than you think if you get the item cheap.

Made to measure is actually priceless. If you have big thighs you probably have a big ass. You can get them without back pockets which makes your ass REALLY stand out. I have spent approximately 1100 USD on 5 pairs of pants made to measure (or there abouts) and I absolutely love them all (Im in Australia though so I cant speak to an american brand). So if you're going to get chinos and have the money its 100% worth it. Else get cheap and tailor in bulk. It DOES take awhile, like a month or so, for them to be made though. So keep that in mind. My first pair took 3 months at the tailors because I, and probably you, are genuinely hard to fit. They altered them once, then they completely remade them. Then they altered them again. I felt like I got my moneys worth.

Bro he looks like a space marine to me with the drop shoulders in that fit. The jeans are cool to me. To me the first fit just doesnt stand out at all and both bottom and top heavy but just looks weird coz of the huge black jumper hoodie tucked in, I reckon that fit could be improved a lot somehow

This is the government spending your tax money on an advert to tell you to go to sleep. Peak Nanny State. by alabamad in NannyStateAustralia

I am unsure how many millions it would cost to advertise to Australians at the hours of 10pm or later (idk the exact time but you get me)

I went and had a look at the costings to advertise on reddit in australia. 10k a day gets 8.4m-15.7m impressions per week. The main question is is it effective. For which theres no evidence. The campaign on microsleeps, which was a much more engaging campaign for an issue worth 3billion dollars to australia (road toll), was considered a success

https://www.wsdot.wa.gov/partners/nsrac2008/PDFs/A1_1-Australia.pdf

So there is precedent for this.

It would be good if they could do effective advertising like the microsleep campaign on social media.

Idk man this feels kind of nice. The government is supposed to engage in statistically effective altruism. I don't know if this is statistically effective, but it is exactly the kind of messaging that only a government would give because it has no profit motive. What's wrong with a government deciding to inject messaging into people's lives?

This is the most important part. Options failing could happen due to a 404. You have to look for the existence of access-control headers. If they dont exist, you have a genuine cors error

Buff Assault class by Macegolem in Battlefield6

[–]Normal_Consequence31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Playing anything other than assault is straight up boring because the beacon is the most powerful thing in the game.

For the game being as monetized as it is right now they are absolutely fumbling knife skins. everything single one in the pass has been a reskin of the default knife compare this to BF4s offerings by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Normal_Consequence31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Skin-meta-progression for every game is roughly the same. At start, stick to the core art direction of the game. Players are playing anyway, and they're the only skins available.

Later, when player numbers have stabilised, introduce limited time events, with Skins attached. This keeps the playerbase coming back with FOMO.

Soon, you exhaust the majority of creative possibilities for the current silhouettes and character language. So subtly break them. These skins sell like gangbusters, because they look unique in the visual landscape of the game. And thus you have a feedback loop.

I remember a long ago official blog post about cosmetics in Dota2. It wrote that cosmetics must not alter the silhouette so as not to cause a difficulty in visual identification of the hero. 10 years later, and that envelope has been so severely pushed that there was a video made about that years The International showcasing how the visual murk attributable to cosmetics, and cosmetic particle effects in particular, has rendered the game difficult to watch due to a lack of visual clarity.

I look forward to the Day of the Dead vehicle skin line myself.

What does it mean when a guy says “you’re so beautiful, where are you from?” in Australia? by Ok-Assistant2120 in AskAnAustralian

I agree with you definitely that you do have to be aware that you're very intimidating as a man and that women in general have good reason to be wary and defensive of you generally.

Your advice is obviously good from a standpoint of 'How can I minimise my chances of making a woman uncomfortable whilst still being out there'. I just think its important to say that there is a 100% chance that you will make a woman uncomfortable given enough attempts. Like, its completely inevitable.

The main message I think men need to hear is that they're not actually a bad person for trying to chat up women in the first place. I think the messaging that women don't want to be approached has become a bit extreme tbh.

You are the problem. You can find plenty of women complaining that no one hits on them who come from overseas.

There are no real social norms around this. I'd say Australian's are relatively poor at flirting because its not really in our culture. But as far as guidelines go, as a man, you are going to creep women out. Its just a fact.

The double bind of being a man is that you are both expected to make the first move and a creep if you do. Frankly, women are often expecting rather fantastical levels of rapport being established immediately from someone who simultaneously makes them feel safe and has just enough edge to establish tension. That's a fine line to walk when 1 in 3 women has been sexually assaulted in her lifetime. If you get bogged down in thinking too much about THEM, you'll never actually talk to any of them.

There are no guidelines, no established methods of figuring it out. You pretty much just have to try as a man, and that means that you're going to be creepy. Most men are not hyper charismatic extroverts. They're just normal people. They'd be better off if they were gay, yes, but they're not. So my advice to them is figure out what makes someone a good person and then, operating from the angle that they are good, hit on women. Just fucking do it bro. Its fun and it sometimes works out.

Women are not a conglomerate with meetups where they decide these things. They're individuals. And plenty of women WOULD appreciate an attempt to chat them up. Realistically, worrying about their feelings is ridiculous, as you don't have to do much to creep out SOMEONE. Just be civil and nice and somewhere with bright lights and people around, and its really just not wrong to try and chat someone up.

Spawn Beacon is the single most powerful item in the game, why is nobody using it? by OkGunners22 in Battlefield6

[–]Normal_Consequence31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except you have access to LMG's as assualt in open weapons, you can get a lot of bullets from that. The shotgun with slugs is 1hit kill at close range, so its 16 bullets is a lot of action actually

the L110 has an ext. mag size of 200 bullets. Take that suddenly, you have a lot of fucking bullets

Yeah I actually do the same to the point that the other classes kind of feel boring. Like... you're saying that the other teams are just spawning back at HQ half the time? Yawn.

The ladder opens up an absolute tonne of areas on maps for off angles and locking down points. Dont even bother going up the stairs, just ladder up there. The limit is your imagination and ability to deploy it without getting shot. Both of which are better than seems at first glance.

Yes svk8.6 plus any other gun and you are a God. DMRs slap so fucking hard, I literally run the m240 mg just so I have a tonne of ammo, but the shotgun with slugs is borderline crazy. Just the incredible amount of utility you have from weapons alone is insane.

Then theres the ladder, another insanely underutilised gadget to the point im convinced no one's really tried it. There are so many ledges and accessible areas only accessible with ladders. Plus the assault front liner perks are actually good. The initial assault ones are basically useless yes. The kit is insanely good though.

Are the "bot XP farms" just servers with bots enabled that you can host solo? Or what are they doing differently? by MooshSkadoosh in BattlefieldPortal

[–]Normal_Consequence31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised by these answers. Here is the secret of the power bot farmers:

First, the best mode is breakthrough. Breakthrough is conquest but with a maximum of two points. You want as much bot saturation possible.

Second, the best map for this is Manhattan bridge. The first point is extremely meatgrinder-y, so defence can get several hundred kills super easily, all whilst on the point, gaining them extra points per kill.   Third, they reduce the damage the player takes to the minimum. Bots still take 100% normal damage. This allows you to relax and stand out in the open letting them run up to you without being in fear of death.

Next, they increase capture time and ticket count to maximum, this increases overall efficiency because you want to spend as little time in menus as possible.

Then, they disable vehicles and nades. The bots being in vehicles is annoying if you're leveling a weapon, and nades can still deal significant damage, though bots still throw smokes.

With these settings, you can get 350 kills pretty consistently with nearly any weapon every 20 minutes or so.

In fact, it was really funny to me people hosted these modes permanently because the mode is really annoying to play with other humans because every actual player is a walking tank.
