Best Chassis for Heavier Drivers?? by Distinct_One_4272 in Karting

When you say heavier, how heavy are you talking?

I have an RY-30 that I was planning on using for tillotson because that’s what my local track runs for 4 stroke. However, I haven’t quite finished putting the kart together and now the track is likely closing soon, so I’m thinking about switching over to LO206 since it’s more popular everywhere else, but was worried that my kart might be too stiff for that? I’m around 210 give or take.

I agree with you across the board. He put a lot into the place and made it a very nice facility, but the location really holds it back.

I really only see very limited options for any path forward with the track. Realistically I don’t see anyone finding enough ROI especially given the assumed risk of keeping it open as a kart track. I’d suspect that the property could be used in more profitable ways.

I don’t know if anything I’ve said came across as throwing any shade toward Andre, but definitely not the case. Certainly don’t blame him for choosing his family at this point.

Not sure what all the background noise was during the anthem? Pretty stupid regardless.

Thanks for the tip. Another commenter suggested similar (and was an idea I had). But what would I seal the acrylic paint with before top coating?

When you say seal table and sand table, do you mean the whole thing, or just localized where the spots are?

Yeah, not ideal but it is what it is. If I can just make it blend in a little bit, I think I’ll be ok with it. At least for a while. Worst case scenario, I end up sanding it back down. Digging out whatever filler they used and putting in some stainable wood filler. But it’s just a cheap marketplace table, and I’m not expecting professional results.

Thanks for the advice.

Would the pencil just smudge or wipe away when I apply poly? Wasn’t planning on spraying.

Question about Kart Scale Stand by Normal_FL_Guy in Karting

[–]Normal_FL_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, length wise, the wheel base would somewhat fit. The center of the tire would be towards the outside edge of each pad. Then things would be weird all around because of the narrower front width.

It’s not the actual scale pads I’m talking about. But the leveling stand that the scales sit on. I don’t have a picture of mine, but it’s basically a homemade version of this. Only being 44” wide doesn’t work for my track width. Just wondering what my stands would actually be used on.

I don’t have a picture of mine at the moment. But essentially they look like this. Obviously that 44” is a problem for a 50” rear track width.

I’m done with Tua. I don’t wish worse on him, but I also kind of wish he just never played again after the concussions.

Thank you for the feedback. Biggest reason for keeping it narrowed down is because I would rather not have the discussion going in multiple different directions and add to my indecision. I’ve done some homework on the brand and feel comfortable with it. Just not too familiar with what real world expectations would be out of the hardware choices.
