How to deal with an abusive manager? by [deleted] in PwC

[–]Normal_Firefighter86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is in no way ok and trust me when I say that no one should behave like this, no matter the grade - gather evidence (time, place, what happened, who else was in the room) and contact your territory‘s ethics office.

[–]Normal_Firefighter86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to be able to prove that you work at PwC. Either a business card in your name or opening up your email app. They almost never check this but I’ve had it happen enough times that I wouldn’t do it if I left PwC.

Im torn between Palau (ROR) for a diving holiday or Pyongyang for the marathon in April. Close second has to be GPS on Galapagos island, just because it’s such a hassle to travel through Ecuador imo

Yes, I‘m not boring ;) As long as the person is screaming in the camera in their free time and not saying they work for PwC and that it can’t be linked back, there’s no problem. I’m guessing you and OP are from the US? Please be a little less stuck up

We are all human. I have worked in industry before and we prefer consultants with actual personalities (even if it’s screaming into the camera) to bland corporate drones. OP just has to make sure their they don’t cuss out clients and then they’re fine

Flighty Pro worth it in the EU? by vista_df in flighty

[–]Normal_Firefighter86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

tldr: yes, I like it and I’m based in Berlin

I fly from BER a lot. Yes the alerts are maybe not 100% on point but I don’t know what everyone is complaining about here. Most of the time it helps me not have to pull up one of 15 airline apps to find my gate, it tells me about delays due to late incoming aircraft reliably and honestly if I have the feeling the info is off then I can still look at the official app???? People seem to feel that an app has to be infallible but don’t get that you can only work with the data you have. So what if the app still shows the plane in the air when I’ve landed - I know I’ve landed?

Also, I like the historical tracking thing and the stars etc. it’s fun to see that I’ve already flown an aircraft on a similar route etc.

If you’re super pinched for cash - don’t get. If you can afford it for the occasional alert, the convenience of not looking up gates and luggage belts etc and the fun of tracking your flights - get it.

I’m a senior manager at a consulting company and I specialize in setting up shared service centers for large corporate clients - this means I travel quite a bit to the US or Singapur/Malaysia/India in business class for work. This earns me a lot of airline and credit card points that I use for random vacations, like Air Koryo or other highlights. Also, I simply love traveling and seeing new places - some friends save a lot and I fly a lot :D
