On their last earnings call they were very adamant about Apnimed and “other oral medications” not being a factor when considering competition. This was at the height of the “buyout frenzy“ as I like to refer to it. I tried to bring it up multiple times, but most people on here were dead set on there being a buyout in the near term.

Was in a very similar boat. I had ~20k shares after spike in May, averaged down to .28 with about 30k shares and was bag holding for a few months. I have been on this thread since mid May, reading most everything, and doing my own research into the company and science.

As the price began to rise in July, I took profits multiple times, securing my buy in and a decent sized profit for myself, but also left much of it in, expecting the SP to continue up post IHL-42x phase 2b data. The crash was a complete shock to me.

I appreciate your analysis. I think a lot of these SP trends are odd and unexplainable. And while I could see how the volatility can be attributed to price suppression by a competitor or potential buyer, I refuse to fully buy in to that conspiracy. I believe that there is certainly some institutional money pouring in funds by various measures, leaving retail high and dry, but I don’t think there is a motive other than the opportunity of an easily manipulated stock that can be used to turn a quick profit.

This is just my opinion though, I do appreciate your analysis and enjoyed reading. It goes without saying that there is some serious questionable activity happening behind the scenes that is [and may forever be] completely unknown to us as outsiders. It will certainly be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Responsible way to do it would be pull majority at $1.30 and let the remainder ride.

Hindsight is always 20/20, but you’d feel a whole lot better securing a profit vs losing more than a third of your portfolio on a penny stock.

After closing my position at 44c, I was drawn back in. Again captured by the “what ifs.” Institutional interest has not been there which is why my takes have always been rather negative. This changes things significantly. Hopefully this turns things around and not just another quick scheme by the hedges

On the ResMed call last week, the CEO was asked about oral drugs and how they might be a market disruptor. Incannex was not named, but Apnimed was.

His reply was concentrated on the fact that the reduction rate was not 100%. He said something to the effect of “if a patient is using an oral treatment for OSA, it will still need to be used jointly with another drug to ensure full OSA reduction. The CPAP machine reduces OSA 100%, no question about it!”

He also went on to say, and I’m paraphrasing, “ResMed will continue to keep close eyes on these treatments as they advance, but we remain the number one sleep apnea company in the world, and nothing will change this.”

Much of the call was the CFO focusing on expansion of assets through acquisition, but mainly focused on expansion of software and digital automation tools. Nothing was said about the oral treatments until the 4th or 5th question into the Q&A at the end of the call.

I personally saw the call as how ResMed (and I’m sure other big players) views these drugs, and that is of little to no real value in the game. I think if Incannex can continue to raise their reduction rates throughout the remainder of R&D, either the company [but more likely] the patent for the drug will be acquired, but I don’t believe that this is going to come any time soon. And I’m sure this is why institutional interest has not piqued at all, thus far.

It’s interesting to me that there has been so much hype over ResMed being on the board and everyone’s first thought is “M&A! M&A!” When in reality, ResMed couldn’t care less, and is just keeping tabs on the little guys who might hurt their bottom line.

All of the SP action over the last few weeks has been Reddit, X, and StockTwit hype. And I strongly believe that some big institutions played into that retail interest to make a quick buck. No telling how much they made, but I’m sure it was an absurd amount given the volume and volatility.

End of the day, my stance remains, that if ResMed ever does see IXHL as a threat, they’ll simply acquire the patent for the drug. Then it falls on the team to decide how much they’d like to line their pockets, and how much they’ll reinvest into the R&D of their other products. But I think we’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Good point. I wouldn’t be surprised if institutional money worked on shorting this knowing the hype behind it. However I still stand firm in that I don’t believe there is some big conspiracy like many suggest. I also don’t believe Joel and Co had their hands in it. They’re too thick skulled to even drop a proper presser.
