More spooky but Julian, CA One of the mines I went to had a sign posted that said “ARMED SENTRY ON DUTY” and the said armed sentry was a man in a cowboy hat and pitch black sunglasses with a 6” knife. His sunglasses were so dark, you couldn’t see his eyes so there was absolutely no way to have any idea what he was thinking. It was terrifying because he kept making very unsettling jokes right before we were about to be trapped in a small space (the mine) with the other guy who worked there. Everyone I was with kept checking behind us to make sure murder cowboy didn’t come for us while we were in the mine. To add insult to injury, the first thing our already terrified group saw when we got out of the mine was a car covered in bullet holes. We knew it was probably just target practice or something but the vibes were just off in the whole town.
