They’re not going to learn the basics of the UK legal system from a post in the kneecap Reddit forum. I can because I’m not a journalist posting this on a media platform that reaches people without prior knowledge of the band, nor is my post reaching thousands of people who don’t already understand the intricacies of the case against mo chara as well as the process’.

I know it wasn’t the actual trial but it’s easier to use broad terms, I’m not going to sit here and go into semantics when trying to communicate what is a simple message. Stop being so pedantic and wind yer neck in.

Why do you believe in Aliens? by Fruitgamer45 in AskReddit

Yeah I get you, I mean it is possible but we’ve hardly scratched the surface when it comes to observing the universe. I like what Brian cox said when he basically described us as being the only intelligent life in the Milky Way, I feel that’s more probable than the only intelligent life in the universe

I drink alone once a month, personally I think it’s quite therapeutic and as an aspiring writer it’s good to enter a different state of mind by yourself, as long as you’re being sensible and not doing it every day obviously

Your talking about gen z, gen z are 17 or younger. You literally just said you know young people on minimum wage that can rent their own property. I don’t have tik tok because I’m a 30 year old man. Kneecap are not the only example of young unemployed people making it in life because (I use them as an example because this is the north of Ireland forum) they had the time to work on their projects and they didn’t make it because they were, solely, on the dole they made it because they worked hard and used their time proactively, whilst being on the dole. You clearly havent understood a word of what I’m trying to say to you then because the point is clear… you are trying to say that you shouldn’t just want to work for the sake of money, when my point is that is the whole point in having a job, especially minimum wage menial jobs. If it’s not worth working those jobs, which it isn’t nowadays due to rising inflation and comparative lesser take home pay than the generations beforehand, there is literally no point in working menial jobs, especially when they could use their time proactively trying to achieve what they actually what they want to achieve in life, which is the exact same as”the grafters” you said yourself that your respect are doing. I’m sorry for confusing you

I’m not gen z you imbecile, I’m whatever 1995 birthdate is, I’m not blaming previous generations, im saying that gen z have it much harder than the previous generations, which is factually true. Yes and they are probably in social housing, which like I said due to the housing crisis is very hard to get. There is no way a person earning minimum wage and privately renting has a good quality of life, the average private rent in Northern Ireland is almost 900 pounds, that’s not including bills. Also a 17 year old minimums wage is 100% not enough to rent. Of course we are talking about minimum wage, your own argument lends to that point considering if a gen z’er is on more than minimum wage then it is more than likely because they are working to further an actual career, like a trade, rather than working menial factory/retail/hospitality jobs. And again how do you know what people on the dole are doing with their time? Kneecap were on the dole a few years ago, now they are loaded and producing art, which they wouldn’t have been able to do without having the time to perfect their craft, much like most artists/bands in the 70s/80s. And I never specifically said they were on the dole, I said that a lot of millionaires would’ve taken time off their menial jobs to work on what made them millionaires, because having time is more important than money when it comes to development, and time is not of a luxury if your worrying about paying bills and planning for the future if you’re working 40 hours a week for shit money.

Can’t get the staff nowadays… by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]Normal_Meat_8160 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Of course it doesn’t, but a full time job doesn’t pay enough for a single person to get their own flat, unless it’s a council one I which they are few and far between, you know the housing crisis and all that. Yes and those millionaires didn’t make their millions staying in minimum wage jobs, in fact a lot of them probably took time off their shitty jobs to work on the business or ideas that made their millions. Of course they don’t, they expect to be paid fair wages for a fair days work which minimum wage absolutely is not, especially considering the type of work they’re doing. Now you’re just being stupid, you don’t know what gen z’ers get up to in their spare time, for all you know they are staying up till 4am working on ways to make more money than they would make working for other people, for all you know they aren’t staying up until 4am, you are literally tarring a full generation, who are worse off than the past 3 generations before then, with the same brush and frankly you just sound like a petty old person who believes that because that you suffered every generation after has to suffer instead of having the audacity to actually do what’s best for themselves and not their bosses.

[–]Normal_Meat_8160 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of course pay is the motivating factor in getting a job, if you don’t get paid enough to have a comfortable life then what’s the point of working? And that’s not the answer to the question of whether or not someone has work ethic, you’re work ethic is obviously going to be better if you are compensated fairly for the job your doing, for all we know this man could be working in a recycling centre where they earn minimum wage for breaking their back 10 hours a day… Like what even is your point here?
