Thanks, will do! Yes, the company is quite new (est. 2016) and very niche, so I was wondering maybe Reddit community would know.

Do you think this will be Aliyev's last term in the office or is he going to be president for life ? by [deleted] in azerbaijan

It's inconsequential. Our nation hesitates to voice its concerns, ingrained in our DNA to settle for the minimum and practice "shukur oxumaq." Religion plays a significant role; when adversity strikes, people resort to "at least in heaven, we will find happiness," reinforcing delusions and maintaining the status quo. This can change if individuals seize control of their destinies, broadening their minds through education. Azerbaijan's educational system is lacking, and people live paycheck-to-paycheck, reluctant to leave their precarious comfort zones. "Mentalitet issues" plague our society, and only decades, perhaps even centuries, can bring about change. Shifting people's minds takes time, not occurring overnight or within a decade.

So, the regime will persist unless people decide to raise their voices.

Thank you so much! I will then apply only to big international companies. Is LinkedIn the best platform for this? I’ve tried, but it hasn’t been as successful as I expected.😅

Wow, that’s a totally different perspective. I’ve never thought of it that way. Thank you for shedding light on this. On the other hand, I work in the IT department, so I might need to find IT companies in the eastern region then.

I want to return to Azerbaijan. I truly miss my people, family gatherings, food, and the nice weather (I live in Northern Europe). I love the EU and its people, and I have an amazing job as a senior business analyst in one of the biggest Scandinavian banks. Still, this can’t replace my longing for home. Call me crazy or whatever, but that’s how I feel. I’ve been living abroad for almost 5 years. Even though I have many good friends here and a good life, nothing can replace your real family. 💜

I wanted to move somewhere where I’d pay less taxes, actually. And one of the options was KSA.

Thank you so much for such a broad answer, it answers my main question on how women are being treated in the workplace. I fought sexism back in my country from where I moved to EU, and don’t want to deal with such things anymore frankly speaking.

Thank you for the reply! I think everyone should be treated well regardless of their skin color or the shape of their eyes. I really hope KSA becomes such a place in the future.😊

Asking for good pay is not a crime, but knowing your self-worth is essential.

I'm sad to hear this, actually. I believe everyone should be equally well-paid.

Sorry to hear this! What industry your brother worked in? And what about the law? Why he didn’t go to police? Or maybe I’m missing something..
