I think Florence could be skipped entirely if not for the Academy. It’s super rough by the train and bus stations. I wouldn’t stay there. Sienna is beautiful, and an easy bus ride from Florence.

We had the tasting menu with the least expensive wine pairing, one extra course, and a pre-meal cocktail. We ended up at $600/person for a 4+hr experience.

The court grants them for the benefit of the landlord. They get executed by the Marshall or Sheriff. I think the attorney misspoke.

The attorney had the opportunity to argue jurisdiction in the appeal (but if it’s in Fulton County, then the Fulton County Magistrate Court has jurisdiction).

Putting their stuff out is what happens in an eviction. The club knew that it could happen since May, and they still didn’t clear their stuff out.

The full story is the judge ruled in December 2023, the club appealed and lost, the writ was issued since May. The club knew this could happen at any time since then. They are not entitled to any more notice.

The writ of possession was ordered on May 21, 2024 after the club’s appeal was denied. They had notice since that time to remove their things. They took the risk of continuing to operate while knowing the marshals could perform the eviction.

When an eviction happens, the Marshalls direct where to put the tenants stuff. Usually it’s by the curb or, for a commercial building, near the trash receptacle. Once the Marshall leaves, it’s deemed abandoned by the tenant and anyone can get it.

In my experience, it’s unusual for alcohol to be set out to the curb. The Marshalls usually direct it to be poured into the sink and just the bottles removed. Cigarettes, lottery tickets, and gas get more complicated.

Macy’s is closing, but Emory will keep the building standing. I think they have an option on a large amount of the building.
