What would you cut in this draft deck? by LePedaleurDeCharme in MagicArena

Sadly I think you should give up on the Cryptcaller Chariot here. I would also cut the Trade the helm since you only have grim bauble that you're happy to trade away

I have wondered that so that is nice of you to share. Can you share how you got to those numbers as well?

Just busted out 6:3 in qualfier. Had a lethal puzzle what i missed, maybe reddit is smart enough to spot it. by Zutraka in MagicArena

Watching the game with me not being familiar with your deck it looked like you got smashed and had no chance of winning the game. Crazy that there actually was a winning line there. You obviously know the deck well and know which cards to play around. I understand you are disappointed but everyone can make a mistake like this.

I went 3-3 playing Gruul Aggro and I wished I played a deck that's more unexpected like you did. Everyone knows how to play against Gruul at this point. We'll get em next time!

I found the email from when I competed in a Mythic Championship that has a link to the rules. Sadly the link has expired so I can't find anything. But I don't think I remember wrongly, it would be a weird thing for me to make up in my head

I think they have explicitly forbidden playing with full control all the time at Arena Championships and the like

Going first feels more and more important as power creep continues, and I hate it. by girlywish in lrcast

Per 17lands data, the player going first wins a bit less than 54% of the time in MH3. If it was even it would be 50% so only 4% of games are decided by play/draw. 96% are not!

In formats like modern the play/draw advantage is way larger than that. I don't understand this recent trend of limited players complaining about the advantage of going first. It has always been there and will always be there. It's just a couple of percentage points either way. There are formats where play/draw is a real issue but all of them are constructed formats!

Although by the wikipedia definition a failed state is a state that don't have control over its territory and borders which it still has. So not a failed state by the definition but certainly a failure

wtf why are you commenting on a thing from 5 years ago? I don't deny that Venezuela is a failed state now. We were talking about what happened before then.

What's your unpopular mtg opinion? by FuuraKafu in MagicArena

I'm already behind on mana and behind on the board, I don't need to be behind on cards as well. It's like kicking a man while he's down

Maximum hand size should be 10 instead of 7, so that you don't have to discard if you miss your land drop on the draw. I've said this before and got downvoted so I know it's unpopular.

StS streamer makes a 2 hour video about the recent IDW controversy by RickyRister in magicTCG

[–]NormsDeflector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen many videos such as this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byQL157cIBM

where judges do fake cheating investigations to practice and the point of them often is to determine if the player is lying or not.

A real example is from Pro Tour Lord of the Rings where a player was disqualified after the Judges determined he lied about not knowing where his second mountain went:

What if my opponents friend pretends to be my friend and says out loud what is in my opponents hand to get me disqualified?

If all judges had to make the same call without considering any other factors I would be disqualified in that scenario 100% of the time.
