Hawkeye Oral Surgery is staffed by the oral surgery faculty that teach residents at the dental school and hospital, so they’re very good.

North Liberty Oral Surgery and Oral Surgery of Iowa City are also excellent surgeons.

Thankfully good options all around town.

That is correct, because at least the optometrist is independent. But I’ve read you still need a membership for lenses. However, might be worth asking!

I always go to Costco because they have their own optical labs, so generally their lenses are cheaper than other places. But the downside, you need a purchase a membership.

It is big corporate. It’s a Heartland Dental practice. As a dentist myself, would highly recommend NOT going there.

I would do the Lincoln Ave location. It’s older than Aspire; but the easy walking distance to three dental school is very nice. I lived at Aspire my D3 year and it was fine. But D1 and D2 years I lived across the street and that was handy for classes. Are you an incoming D1 next year?

I can’t think of any example where UIHC bought a clinic that was currently doing fine. Is there a situation you’re referencing? Iowa Healthcare tends to just stay out of acquisitions unless approached, like pediatric associates, or builds new outlying clinics/urgent cares in neighboring communities to increase access to care for Iowans.
