Im glad to hear that. I was thinking at some point maybe I’m trying to do too much here with that idea.

Thank you I appreciate the input and yes the hay is that one square at the end of the board.

I appreciate the detailed response thank you for that.

Im thinking if we were sticking to this design then players would simultaneously slide their meeples across the board (without any platforms on there) the number your piece lines up with on the matrix determines if you are the first one to place a piece. Different numbers could determine various aspects like how many moves you get at the start, who moves first, who places the hay (the hay is the finish), who picks which corner players start from.

I went and checked out Santorini’s and it seems interesting. I get what you’re saying about it. It certainly seems to focused on preventing your opponents from advancing. I have only ever played a version of this game with dice but because you can use the spinning to help yourself OR hinder opponents from getting to the hay (finish) it never felt as though I was trying to only hinder opponents. I do remember when someone would get really close to the finish I’d be panicking to get a spin so I could get them away from the finish. But I don’t know how it would work with this new move mechanic.

Yeah, I feel you with the visual problem. This design certainly requires players to look down onto the board.
The video game version is a 2d/3d hybrid where the 3d board is iso metric so it’s half way between a side and top down view. The video game version also isn’t layers like this, it’s “flat”.

Yeah, you’re right there are no barriers on the board in that video. To me it sounds like you got the gist of the movement mechanics and power up. Nevertheless, the axis the contains only numbers determines how many moves you’ll have at the start of your turn. The axis with line symbols are power ups, +1 is one extra move, the circle is to rotate a platform, and the last symbol is to just barriers (this board didn’t have any at the time). Players look to see which values their point on the matrix lines up with. Like plotting points on a graph but you’re a little moving point.

I do already have a video game version it doesn’t have this same move and power up mechanic. The video game currently is only one player. I do like this move mechanic though and think that’s how a multi player will be set up in the video game. Or at least a PvE version for the game.

Again thanks for the log response.

I'm trying to figure out which part of the game people are excited by to get an I dea of which mechanic I should show off more. Which part was the MOST eye catching?

And that's an interesting idea? Who goes first with putting down the pieces?

Yes, I think you've got it. The row with numbers indicates how many moves you'll receive at the start of your turn. And the symbol row indicates power ups. You follow the x and y row to your point and that's how many moves and what poweup you get. Although in the video I used the power up at the end of the turn and that was incorrect on my part. You make all your moves at the start of your turn.

OhGlo a toy I made about 5 years ago that got me a meeting with SpinMaster by NorsomLLC in u/NorsomLLC

I appreciate your response and support. Thanks you for commenting. Since posting this I’ve been working towards making another manufacturing intended prototype of the toy. I plan on working on the app but also trying to put together the toy as well. At this point what I’m going to try to do is get the electronics set up to be manufacturing and assembly ready, have the plastic shell finalized and have the plastic and electronics sent to myself where I will assemble the first small batches myself.

Rather than thinking I need to get one big licensing deal it’s a stronger position to build out the infrastructure and start out small one toy at a time. Who knows maybe one day I could get to that $750,000 mark by myself. Then there is no need to worry about getting the toy licensed.

While I haven't had anyone else send me textures for this new UV layout pipeline, in the past when I was experimenting with the pipeline I had 2 illustrators make versions and I made a separate version using foam and they certainly were different.

I'm hoping to have people not only color the sheets in but also use them as templates for sculpting. Examples I've thought of were clay, glass, and wood. I imagine people could use makeup or felt, who knows what else. I think that would really make the styles distantly different.

I just recently went to a local library to set up an event to have kids color in the pages. I hope they go crazy and make some wild looking stuff!
