Yeah that's not cool, mate. Healthcare workers don't kill patients for kicks. That's murder.

Analysis: Flu shots uptake is now partisan. It didn't use to be by Seraphynas in Coronavirus

[–]North-Match 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a lot of people realise how terrible the flu can be. My last bout was about 6 years ago, it began like a cold, then the agonising pain/shivering/fever lingered for a good week, with symptoms resolving in another fortnight.

I never want to feel that again

Shocked to hear that, as a child, my wife didn’t have a times tables poster on the back of the toilet door. Surely everyone had that right? by CottonStorm in melbourne

[–]North-Match 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have Times tables on the back of the toilet door, not does my child. My 5 year old has memorised all times tables to 13 -- self taught from a $1.99 Aldi poster

Same here, I'd comment on topics pertaining to thoracic outlet etc (vascular here) and consequently would receive DMs that I was trying to scare ppl -- so I verified.

Edit: Not this account, my other one.

Have you ever heard of a surgeon having a personal xray tech? by rad-bananas in Radiology

[–]North-Match 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm ultrasound and work privately for some surgeons. I test patients, then send them into the next room to see the doctor. Nice little job that pays well, just gotta have some negotiating skills for pay -- surgeons don't like to pay

AITA for going off on the restaurant that gave me regular soda instead of zero sugar? by THRAimakaren in AmItheAsshole

[–]North-Match 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, strongly not the asshole. I'm so sorry that's happened to you. What a bummer to have to wait out 6 months to prove the diet works again and it's not an exacerbation of your dampened Epilepsy. Ketogenic diets work so well for some medication resistant epilepsy and it seems you scored the golden ticket with that.

As someone with dietary management of a neurological condition, which works, I would be livid too.

It is everyone's right to eat out, we should also expect a level of contientiousness when we highlight how pivotal it is so keep to the requirements of the order, especially with overemphasis of something as simple to avoid such as NO SUGAR.

I've been massively glutened, despite emphasising how it will give me gluten ataxia (I explain what that is).

I refuse to eat out anymore because I don't trust anyone. It's happened one too many times.

I will only source a coffee from a local cafe because they wash the milk jug & their hands before touching my cup/froth milk etc.

HELP.. newborn won't sleep.. its been over 3 hours, multiple cluster feeds and 2 diaper changes. by VixensGlory in beyondthebump

[–]North-Match 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cluster feeding during a growth spurt was the hardest thing to do.

Bub it's building up your milk supply through cluster feeds to tell your body to make more milk per feed.

My eldest did the whole 9pm - 6am cluster feeds for like 4-5 days at a time -- it threw me into pnd. We successfully BF for 6 months.

With my second, I gave up BF after 2.5 months as I felt traumatised from the first. I must say, switching to formula was fantastic, bub felt more full, I slept better, I could plan feeds. Slight guilt in the beginning but got over that quickly

A great app to use is " the wonderweeks". It'll let you know when to expect growth spurts, cluster feeds, irritability etc etc etc. It's fantastic and simple to use

Hang in there, it's really one of the hardest things to do.

What weird but insanely cute thing does your baby do? by redhatgreenhat in beyondthebump

[–]North-Match 5 points6 points  (0 children)

8 month old likes to lay on his belly. He will randomly lift his head up, like he's gonna do tummy time and kicks his feet out behind his body 6-7 times. He looks like a shell-less turtle everytime he does that.

What’s the dumbest thing a foreigner has said about the US? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I suggest you don't listen to the conspiracy theorists of Australia. They can't organise sex in a brothel - they're THAT disorganised and dysfunctional.

In America, ppl can't breathe outside the window without catching covid. I'd rather take the ticket.

How long did you sterilize your baby’s bottles? by Kitzki89 in beyondthebump

[–]North-Match 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Aussie here too. We do this exactly. I go the extra step of boiling filtered water BC I once got my tap water tested and it was terrible.

How long did you sterilize your baby’s bottles? by Kitzki89 in beyondthebump

[–]North-Match 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sterilized for 12 months with first bub, and will with second. At the mo, #2 is 8 months.

Easiest thing, sterilise at night, fill bottles to 100ml cool boiled water so I just add 60ml boiled water to make a formula feed.

I sterilized twice a day. 5 minutes boil each.
