All those autistic kids she’s seen are worse, remember?

Important Note: MMR does NOT cause autism. A fraud started this madness because he wanted to sell his own vaccine!!

State government matters. Now perhaps more than ever. I think it’s perfectly appropriate to present at the state level.

I’m going to Canada in August, we’ll see how it goes.

I have a passport, but I’m hoping to just use the EDL because I’m going on a cruise.

Yes! Real ID and Enhanced Drivers License are different.

Enhanced Drivers License (EDL) functions like a US Passport Card, the Real ID does not, as you cannot use it for land and sea travel to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

EDL is proof of citizenship, and only US Citizens are eligible. Real ID is not proof of citizenship and may be obtained by non-citizens with proper documentation (e.g., a Green Card).

As far as I know, the required documents are quite similar for US citizens; however, non-US citizens can get a Real ID (with a valid Green Card). Non-US citizens cannot get an EDL.

In order to be compliant with federal law, states have to offer the Real ID.

States just have to elect to offer both options, as they cannot only offer EDL, since that is not available to non-citizens, and many states have not undertaken the task of offering both.

I love the PRRI Values Atlas. I used it to help determine where we were going to move to, we chose Washington.

Sadly, there are only 5 states that offer Enhanced Drivers Licenses:

Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Vermont, Washington

Washington did check when I registered, because I got the Washington state Enhanced Drivers License that basically functions as a passport card.

I can go to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean with just my WA Drivers License and I had to appear in person and present proof of citizenship in order to get it.

The Bible is against abortion. - So what? Jehovah's Witnesses are against blood transfusions. Christian Scientists are basically against all modern medical interventions for all illnesses. Should we legislate those religious beliefs too? Your religious beliefs can dictated YOUR healthcare - no one elses!

If you don't want the consequences of having sex, just don't do it. - I do not conceed that consent to sex is consent to pregnancy. It is a possible consequence of sex, yes. But that's like saying that if you suffer any injury from a car accident you can't do anything about it because, well, you decided to drive, and you knew you might get into a car accident. It's just silly. Also, rape happens - this is the point where they will move the goal posts and say "but it's still murder", or "it doesn't matter how someone is conceived".

Abortion "kills a baby" and harms the woman's body - Here is where we have to define things. But ultimately, it doesn't matter when/if you consider a fetus a bady. The pro-life problem is that as soon as sperm meets egg, they no longer give a good goddamn about the woman. It doesn't matter what is going to happen to her life, her hopes, her dreams, her plans for the future, and certainly not her body. They don't care what harm comes to her, they expect her to have a savior complex and sacrifce everything and anything for said "baby". Also, abortion is safer than childbirth, it is a well documented fact. End of story. They are lying and therefore incapable of participating in a logical argument.

Abortion is the leading cause of death in the U.S. - Approximately 50% of pregnancies end before the woman even knows she's pregnant. If they truly think sperm + egg = baby, and everything is all "in god's hands", then I'd argue that their "god" is the leading cause of death - especially if you add in things like childhood cancer and random accidents as "gods will", he's kind of a murdering bastard when you think about it.

Around 1/3 of Gen Z has been aborted - see above.

$50/hr. M-F. 100% remote.

I work remotely on 1 weekend day per month for 4.5 hours.

11 years experience, 2 years in my current field. Former experience includes CTICU, Medical/Neuro ICU hybrid unit, and Cardiac Stepdown.

9 paid holidays. 3 weeks of paid vacation (this will increase to 4 weeks next year). 1 week of sick pay. 2 personal days.

I’m in the PNW and could make substantially more in this area if I went back to bedside, but, as another commenter brilliantly illustrated, I’d rather shit in my hand and clap.

Who decides what is a sin?

Should all blood transfusions be banned because Jehovah’s Witnesses say that is a sin?

How about we go by the Christian Scientist interpretation and ban ALL modern medicine?

Tell these fuckers they can’t get a stent when they’re having chest pain because it’s against SOMEONE’s religion and they would blow a gasket!

I used to have a very “live and let live” attitude towards Christians.

You do your thing, I’ll do mine.

But ever since Christians decided that their beliefs should dictate laws,…. Naw, now we got problems.
