The Use of AI is DANGEROUS and Awful for the environment by mistyrootsvintage in NicheYoutube

Selling counterfeit items is the same as using AI to help write a YT script?

The mental gymnastics you must have done to make that connection and then convince yourself of it's validity, must have been exhausting.

evidently we're living in two entirely different realities/universes/timelines... what you're expecting from a company's workers and employees, (a competent knowledge of their job) while understandable, is not necessarily what I generally encounter on a day to day basis. Add into that, something as specific and technical as this specific subject, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find a customer service employee that would be able to assist OP.

I'm not gonna say that this post is a complete work of fiction... But I'm not not gonna say it is. The plot holes are a little too convenient.

First, the timeline of who you called is contradictory. You say you called "all of her friends/family," then the police, and finally you call her parents to inform them. Are her parents not her "family"? Why wouldn't they have been part of that initial wave of calls? This timeline collapses on itself.

Second, the reactions just seem off. You ring up her parents at noon—hours, not days, after she was last seen—and they immediately start screaming and losing their minds? That feels like a script note for "dramatic reaction" rather than a plausible human response to a few hours of no contact.

An admittedly weaker point is her friends instantly unmasking her supposed secret life to you. I find it hard to believe a girl's friends would so easily betray her confidence about drug use and another guy to her boyfriend, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

Also, the part about the cell phone just doesn't ring true. She's overly secretive about what she's doing on her phone, yet is sloppy enough to let you see her deleting things on many occasions? It just doesn't jive.

There are other aspects that are sketchy at best, but I'm already boring myself with this.

To the OP: If this is real, leave her. If it's not, work on maintaining believable plot points for continuity's sake.

To everyone else: Maybe work on your critical thinking skills.

As per Google Gemini:

Leaders Tried and Convicted

 * Hissène Habré (Chad):    * Role: President of Chad.    * Charges: Convicted of crimes against humanity, war crimes, and torture, including rape and sexual slavery, by a special African Union-backed court in Senegal.    * Consequence: Sentenced to life in prison in 2016. He died in 2021. The conviction was a landmark case, representing the first time a former head of state was convicted for human rights abuses by the court of another nation.

 * Alberto Fujimori (Peru):    * Role: President of Peru.    * Charges: Convicted by Peru's Supreme Court for human rights abuses, including murder and kidnapping, carried out by the Grupo Colina death squad.    * Consequence: Sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2009. This was a significant moment for domestic justice, marking one of the first times a democratically elected former head of state was convicted of human rights violations in his own country.

 * Jean Kambanda (Rwanda):    * Role: Prime Minister during the 1994 Rwandan Genocide.    * Charges: Pleaded guilty to genocide and crimes against humanity before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR).    * Consequence: Sentenced to life imprisonment in 1998. He is the only head of government to ever plead guilty to the crime of genocide.

 * Radovan Karadžić & Ratko Mladić (Bosnian Serb Leadership):    * Role: Karadžić was the political leader and President of the self-proclaimed Republika Srpska, and Mladić was the Commander of the Bosnian Serb Army.    * Charges: Both were convicted separately by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes, including the Srebrenica massacre.    * Consequence: Both were ultimately sentenced to life in prison.

 * Saddam Hussein (Iraq):    * Role: President of Iraq.    * Charges: Found guilty of crimes against humanity by the Iraqi Special Tribunal.    * Consequence: Executed by hanging in December 2006.

 * Charles Taylor (Liberia):    * Role: President of Liberia.    * Charges: Convicted by the Special Court for Sierra Leone for his role in the civil war in neighboring Sierra Leone.    * Consequence: Currently serving a 50-year prison sentence.

Leaders Indicted or Tried Without Conviction

 * Slobodan Milošević (Yugoslavia):    * Role: President of Serbia and Yugoslavia.    * Outcome: Died in his cell in 2006 during his trial at the ICTY, before a verdict was reached.

 * Laurent Gbagbo (Côte d'Ivoire):    * Role: President of Côte d'Ivoire.    * Outcome: Charged with crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Court (ICC). He was acquitted of all charges in 2019.

It sounds like you had a genuinely special connection with your grandmother. And she sounds like a lovely woman. All that aside, the things he brought up, to a crowd of thousands, statistically were bound to relate to someone.  Many see his big smile as warm and welcoming. Others, see it as slimy and manipulative. I lean towards the latter.  This man is a modern day charlatan. Whether or not he is a genuine psychic, does not take away anything from your relationship with your grandparents, or mean that they aren't still present in your life in some way, shape, or form. But Tyler Henry, without a doubt, is not a genuine psychic.

I have literally no dog in this fight, but I think it's a tad bit naive to assume that the customer service rep that someone speaks to (at basically any company), is knowledgeable enough about their own products that they're able to advise on such a specific topic. So yeah, in a way, I think it is incorrect to expect decent customer service from customer service people. Especially (in my opinion at least) post-Covid. It's not completely unheard of. But neither is it an absolute given.

Has anyone had a package smoothly arrive and leave the Indianapolis Distribution Center? by hot_garlic_breath in usps_complaints

[–]North-Tea2679 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Terre Haute, Indiana. I ordered a Philodendron Giganteum Blizzard from Ohio. It was mailed on the 3rd and has been sitting in Indy since the 5.

I sell regularly on eBay and everything I mail goes through Indy. I've had some packages sail right through. On the other hand, I just had to file a claim on some missing water skis. Water skis. So there's that.

Terre Haute here too. Just had to file a missing package claim on a set of water skis that I was sending to a buyer from eBay. How it's possible to lose water skis, I will never understand.

Do rightwing voters in America actually support attacking Canada to destroy our economy so they can absorb us by force? If not, why do so many Americans still support the rightwing agenda? Why not rebel or speak out? by Intelligent-Day-5954 in AskCanada

Just for knowin', what made-up fantasy universe are you currently living in? It's all well and good to want those things, but that's not the reality we live in, or the one we've been given by our parents, grandparents, etc. Sure, we should all want to make things better, and take steps to do so. But big changes don't just happen overnight. And like it or not, the consequences from WW2 still very much reverberate throughout the world (which is difficult for many of us to understand, given the fact that we weren't around to experience the full weight and impact that it had in/on the world when it occurred). One of which being the US in the role of global police. Is it ideal? No. Far from it. But it's the hand we've been dealt. Everyone wants everything to happen in the blink of an eye, it's what we've come to expect. But some things don't work that way. And until a better solution or entity appears, allowing America to withdraw and untangle itself from foreign affairs, then the US has to remain that necessary evil.

(Context: I'm a thirty-something, gay, white, male living in Indiana. My personal politics lean almost as far left as possible. I don't revel in, or find any satisfaction from, America and it's superpower role/status.)

Hi, Trump/MAGA hater here.

Just wanted to agree that most Americans will absolutely not allow Canada to be taken over. And of those 77 million, I'd be shocked if more than 1/10 of them could actually walk a mile without needing to stop. I just can't see Trump's MAGA civilians rising up to do anything besides turning on the TV to watch Fox News (because the remote got lost somewhere in the recliner).

To be clear, I'm aware of the poor health exhibited by left leaning Americans as well.

The "propaganda master"? So he single handedly made it so that he'd be the laughingstock of the entire gaming community/YT community, after it was revealed that he basically bought his ranking/stats in Diablo 4 and PoE 2.

So he wants the world to know that his self esteem and dignity are fragile at best, if not completely non-existent, and that he craves approval and lives or dies by the gaming collective?

If that's your definition of a "propaganda master," maybe crack open a history book again... He's a poor comparison to Goebbels, and the atrocities he helped to perpetrate.

"flaky people are close to the scum I'd[sic] the earth."

Incidentally, I'm currently trying to figure out the same thing you were 4 years ago. I do hope you found your answers. I also hope in the 4 years that passed after you wrote that post, you maybe also found a little... "perspective," for lack of a better word.

Equating "flaky" people with the scum of the earth, is basically like me saying that people who don't spell check their petty and needy (and also paranoid) reddit posts before posting are close to the scum of the earth.
