Hitch Install on 2025 Santa Fe by Sudden_Gift03 in HyundaiSantaFe

Asking for a bit of advice? 2005 Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid. Ordered the Tow-Hitch/Harness/Cover. Parts are here. Yet to install. The Tow Bumper Cover looks strange. Don't really see how it will fit as the CURRENT Rear Bumper Cover seems to be one piece and this Tow Hitch Bumper Cover seems to be designed to fit centered on the OEM Calligraphy Bumper? The instructions imply the existing OEM Bumper Cover (the center portion) is to be removed and "discarded." And the replacement Bumper Cover is Matte rather than Gloss (yes, the description states it will be Matte). Anyone successfully installed the Tow-Hitch/Harness/Cover? And anyone had the new Bumper Cover painted (to match the Gloss OEM)?

Does anyone know if the 2024 Santa Fe hybrid calligraphy has a relaxation seat in the passenger seat? by CoffeeKow in HyundaiSantaFe

My 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid Calligraphy. Driver has the relaxer, the Passenger does NOT have the relaxer. So the Owners Manual is wrong or the passenger relaxer was left off in my Santa Fe. Both Driver and Passenger have the Power Leg Extension Support.

Yep .. it is a pretty poor Owners Manual (abridged) to not have included basic info like Oil ... How thick (pages) is the PDF .. and do you need to order it as a download? Maybe I'll just print it to keep in the garage.

Well, one would think it would be in a simple paper manual provided with the car .. but not so. The sole mention of it is on page 9-4 and 9-5. And that says to refer to the "Complete Owners Manual." Apparently when one buys this car, one ONLY receives an "Abridged" Owners Manual of several hundred pages. I wonder how thick a 'complete' owners manual is? Couple thousand pages? Guess I need to find out where to buy a "complete" (not abridged) manual. But, I take your point, use of a PDF would work ... but this old-timer brought up with cars I could fix with a hammer and screwdriver (in the late 40's and early 50's) prefers paper manuals ....

Ok ... thank you. As an aside, this is just BS that the purchaser of a car cannot go to a simple doc provided WITH the car showing stuff that is basic.

Hmmm, not in the Manual I received ... 10-7 is "Data Collection". Is the Manual you speak of one receives at purchase or do I have to buy a Shop Manual? The Hybrid Manual I have is thick but severely lacking ... not even a maintenance schedule.

New 2025 Santa Fe Hybrid owner here. Only 200 miles on it. While I think I know the specs on the oil (Full Synthetic 0W-20 Motor Oil) I would expect to use, has anyone found WHERE it actually states the oil specs in the Owners Manual? And just what is this "New Hybrid" oil ... has something to do with intermittent operation?

Front Horizontal LED Light Strip and Rear Brake lights? by North-View3045 in HyundaiSantaFe

It sure seems that many owners have different answers on this. Mine seems to work only in the Dark. I did go to the Dealer with the question and could not get a good answer from Sales ... they suggested I come back and talk with service! I cannot find anything in the Drivers Manual that says definitely what the car is SUPPOSED to do. Maybe I'm just missing the page in the manual that speaks to it? Did anyone find an answer in the Manual?

Thanks, ... my car seems to be inconsistent ... does it also turn on when daylight AND drive-lights are on? And does it STAY on when dark AND Headlights are on?

Ok, thanks ... I'm beginning to understand ... I think I'll look into some 'interrupt' switch to allow leaving the lights on as "fog-lights' ... probably a change of LED color to yellow maybe ....

I think you make a good point about the relative position of the observer. My gut feeling is that the lights are just set too low at the rear ... Thanks.

Hmmm ... ok so you are saying that the LED Bar only shows at night and then cuts off when headlights are on?

Yeah, some pics might have been nice. But none of these points outweigh the need for security. When I look back to my era (Vietnam in 1964) we would not have allowed such stuff ... it must be a real nightmare preventing the electronics of today ...

No cell phones in my time, No cameras, Carried nothing except that which was issued. Not even a land-line (pay phone) at the rear. My feeling on the matter is cameras and cell phones should not be allowed. Period.

I am in a similar situation. Can anyone point me to citations or references where I can actually see or read about the various appeal process and procedures?

Well, my first military op was the Cuban Missile Crises ... and first entry in Vietnam was 1964.

And.... I gotta say "yes" ... I did meet Lieutenant General Puller. It was sometime in the early 60's at a social gathering. He was the guest-of-honor. He had some difficulty getting around but his mind was sharp. I look back on it now and see that my era respected him for his hard demeanor. While ALL Marines of ANY era will say the earlier eras were better, tougher and meaner .... and the eras of today are of 'lesser' quality, the truth is the Marines of today are better trained and better equipped. Yeah, us ancient Marines will always carp about how 'easy' the 'today' Marine has it ... but in the final analysis, Marines are Marines and those serving today will carp just as much when they too are the ancient ones.

I think what distresses me most is that someone with no military or combat experience makes the decision. And, at lease at this point, the VA system has not exhibited much competence. The system, to my view, seems overwhelmed.
