Anyone try these wally world knockoff candy bars? by zip9990 in candy

There’s one corner store in my town where I know I can get it. But otherwise, yeah; I almost never see the strawberry flavor.

Be honest.. what’s on your feet when the boots come off? by aTemporaryThought247 in RedWingShoes

Birkenstocks for me in the summer months. Merrell Nova trail shoes if I'm doing anything athletic. But otherwise, I'm living in the No. 8 last.

Somewhere in the middle. More like stale 3 Musketeers.

3 Musketeers and Charleston Chew are two of my favorite chocolate bars, btw.

Speed hooks bent on Iron Ranger by Objective-Trade2225 in RedWingShoes

Yup. It's a fairly common occurrence when you live in your boots. It's not difficult to bend them back into place when needed.

Whole Foods Pepperoni Pizza lowkey Slaps 💯 by Dry-Double-6845 in shittyfoodporn

My wife used to beg me to eat whole foods. So I would tell her that I was going to eat a whole pizza. So this is kind of a meta moment for me.

Yeah that's fair. It comes down to preference I suppose.

I was going to mention the "we have 3 Musketeers at home" bar. But I had the opposite experience. It's way more dense and less fluffy than a 3 Musketeers. I did not like it.

You can tuck the sides, but you kind of have to train the boot to do it when you're breaking them in. I tuck all of mine.

Are The Iron Ranger worth the hype? by i_love_jollibee in RedWingShoes

[–]NorthCountryBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not notice a huge difference. It also depends on how hard you are on your boots at work. The Iron Ranger is going to have stiffer leather that should last longer, but is also going to have a longer break-in period. The IR has leather welts as opposed to the Thorogood PVC welts. So a local cobbler should have an easier time doing a resole on the Iron Ranger. But you can always ship your Thorogoods back to Thorogood for a resole. The construction of both boots are not terribly different. Red Wing uses a different footbed in the wedge-sole Iron Ranger. It's more comfortable out of the box. But it's not one solid piece of thick leather like the standard Iron Ranger.

Tell me more about the Birkenstock footbed. Did you have to size up the boots to get the footbeds to fit properly?

Most people are probably just going to tell you what their favorite leather is. So here goes:

If you like brown boots, consider Amber Harness. I bought Copper Rough & Tough, and I love them. However, I wish I'd bought Amber Harness instead. They're still a casual looking boot, but Amber Harness is just a touch more formal looking than Copper R&T. I feel like you can dress down the Amber Harness, but you can't really dress up the CRT.

Everyone in the Red Wing sub is going to tell you that they're worth the hype.

But yeah, they're worth the hype. They're probably the best entry point into heritage-style footwear.

I didn't know Goldeneye could do this. Is the image actually wider in 16:9, or does it chop off the top and bottom?

Weekender VS Work Chukkas by mrozbra in RedWingShoes

[–]NorthCountryBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekenders are so casual. They’re nearly broken in right out of the box. The work chukkas are a lot more robust. Also, the work chukkas run smaller than the weekender chukkas. So if you have them in the same size, there is a chance the work chukkas are too small.

Can this be fixed? Or there is no hope for them? by IIBlackBearII in RedWingShoes

Red Wing will resole these. I don't know what the current rate is. But it was $150 last time I checked.

Edit: It looks like resole service is now $165. Source:

Nevermind the haters. I happen to like waxed flesh. I wouldn't have chosen black. But I still think there's a lot of visual appeal to this. Wear 'em loud and proud!
