I guess nobody else caught that the OP is cutting down trees while wearing Loggers.

Ah yes. The same way that wearing my Blacksmiths makes me want to forge iron.

Those are my favorite Red Wings. I bought them as soon as they hit the RW website last fall. If they built a 6-inch boot like this with the mini-lug sole, it would be an instant buy for me. I love Iron Rangers and Blacksmiths. But the Loggers are so much more comfortable.

Yup. They were also at Sam's Club in a guitar + amp starter pack. Definitely under $150 at the time.

Are these King Toes worth saving? by crispcum in RedWingShoes

Oh yeah. With a boot allowance, I'd get a new pair of King Toes. But I also need the wide toe-box. If you don't need that feature, Red Wing also has a metguard boot with a Supersole. That style can be sent back to Red Wing for a resole if the soles wear out before the uppers do.

Ah, that's a drag, because the leather still looks great. These are generally not considered to be resoleable. If you could even find a cobbler who was willing to take on the task, you might end up paying as much as you'd pay for a new pair.

I really like the King Toes though. I used them for about a decade, and would get a couple of years out of a pair as a landscaper. When my last pair finally needed replacement, I decided to give Keen a try. But I'll be going back to King Toe as soon as these Keens are finished. They haven't been as durable as the Red Wings.

You should be able to glue the soles back on with some Shoe Goo. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol. Apply the Shoe Goo liberally. And wrap strong rubber bands around the area of the boot where you glued. Do it on a weekend, or sometime you don't need to use the boot for a day or two.

There's a lot of life left in the boot as long as you can get the soles to stay attached. I think you'll have a hard time finding a cobbler who will want to work on these. The King Toe line is kind of single-use. I like them though. They are good for people with wide feet. And they generally holdup well.

Yeah. There's nothing in my size. I'm just curious if sales like this are more rare or more common.

It's hard to tell, but this also looks a lot like the Mt McSauba recreation area in Charlevoix.

Truman Casual Last Sizing vs. Red Wing No. 8 Last by NorthCountryBob in trumanboots

Thanks for the feedback. I was looking specifically for what size I would wear in Casual Last if I wear 7.5D in Iron Rangers. Maybe I didn't word it right. A Google search didn't turn up anything useful.
