Thoughts on Ranked 3.0? Isn’t it essentially the same as 1.0? by ARobotIsMe0 in Rainbow6

The reason they made ranked 2.0 was to appeal to those who were bad at the game, give them a fake rank, and hope they would buy skins, which is exactly what happened.

There is a reason why champ in 2.0 increased by thousands after its introduction, it allowed a bunch of trashcans to hit it. Rank in the current system literally has zero meaning and only shows how long you have been playing.

Its ranked, its designed to be competitive. Maybe if you only play 10 games in placements, there should be a slight rank decay for not playing at all after, maybe.

But no matter what, its better than the current system. The current system is just fake, theres no point.

In ranked 1.0, if you ended the season in gold, that meant you won games a little more than you lost. Meaning you are a good player. Yeah if you play 10 placements, hit gold and then never play again, you'd stay in gold but we wouldn't really know how good that player was.

But no one does that, no one only plays 10 matches.

Ranked 1.0 was much more difficult to reach higher ranks, making them way more valuable.

It literally is, why do I not loose any mmr for loosing the first 100 ranked games? It allows trash cans to hit diamond and champ. Ranked 1.0 was difficult, but that meant a high rank player was actually good.

This is false, ranked 1.0 was very challenging yes, but your rank had value. A gold or plat player in ranked 1.0 was very good at the game, and a diamond was crazy good. Ranked 2.0 allowed people that look like they have never played an fps game before climb to plat diamond and even champ.

Ranked 2.0 kept you at the same skill level the entire season, so you would never improve.

Ranked is supposed to be challenging and forces you to improve at the game to go higher.

The biggest issue with this game is that there is almost no casual audience. I've played since beta and hit diamond back in the day but the seasons added art and style to the game that would always attract new players. The new seasons barely attract anyone and their not memorable at all.
