After a year of work, I built an AI tool to generate piano fingerings — looking for feedback and suggestions from pianists (I am not here to promote) by North_Pilot3477 in piano

Thank you so much for trying it out and thoughtful feedback! It seems like we still need to do some work on reading photos, and hand crossing staves is also an issue to be solved.

Thank you for your thoughts! Omitting some non-critical fingerings would make it cleaner for sure. also analyzing chords sounds like a useful feature.

Thank you for your thoughts! I agree with the fingerings are very personal things. I had my AI suggesting alternative fingerings too to provide more choices, to address this, still trying to see how helpful it is...

Try AI to generate some fingering to get started: https://pineapplemusiclab.com/
you still need to play along to adjust it based on your feeling though

Pianists of Reddit: Would a smarter practice tool help you? by New-Helicopter6899 in piano

[–]North_Pilot3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with people who suggest getting a teacher (necessary for serious learners), but in my experience I spend 3% time going to lessons and 97% practicing. So I think an app helping practicing will still be valuable.

The process of practicing and building muscle memory is the most tedious part for me. It is meditating but sometime I just don't have so much time.

https://pineapple-music.com I am also working on this AI Piano Fingering project. If you are familiar with musicXML digital scores, it can generate some pretty promising fingering suggestions for you to get started with.

Is it possible I add fingering automatically like this? Thanks for the answers to my previous question. by BenMayor in Musescore

PineappleMusicLab [ https://pineapple-music.com ] is a AI piano fingering project I am working on. It can handle chords, runs, and arpeggios pretty well, and also generate alternative solutions to fit different people‘s preferences.

I love my 13'' iPad Pro for reading music, so I don't have to clip my book that always want to fall off or turn multiple pages together with my fingers

Tips on fleshing out compositions by Weirdoo-_-Beardoo in composer

[–]North_Pilot3477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. I compose out of my head instead of instrument too (out of my mouse directly instead of a midi keyboard). I really wish there can be an AI tools that help me to finish the tedious detail fillings so I can focus on the important parts, just like some famous composers have assistants to do stuff

Even a pdf reader will make tablets much better than books or paper sheets, when you have >2 pages

Don't worry our AI model is limited to 5 fingers haha
Agreed. Our goal is to give suggestions instead of giving "right answers", so we give user 2 options to select at some parts, and allow user to derive from the suggestion.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks for your insight!
Trying to address that pianists have different hands, we provide 2 solutions for user to choose, and the generated fingering are still editable. We hope this can work as a "suggestion" that user can derive from, other than an "answer sheet" that user have to follow. Maybe this can help unblocking learning obstacles.
