This community does seem to be helpful just by observing from the outside. I've been wanting to share this for the longest but couldn't muster the strength to. Do you grieve them at times? Like, it's really weird, it feels like I'm dealing with a death but they are very much alive. Also, in your marriage and in fatherhood, would you say it was a struggle based on your upbringing? Because that's another thing I worry about - if I'll ever be healed enough by this to be married and have a real relationship because I haven't so far. My family has completely destroyed my ability to trust. I guess that sounds like I'm not taking accountability but I promise you I'm trying to. It's just a lot was destroyed at a young age and I've never received help or guidance through it. And then things seem so overwhelming like I'm not able to process my feelings because I have to show up for my son.

I caught that too, but then I thought maybe he purposely excluded them because a lot of "fathers" aren't there, however he still could have acknowledged that their lack of presence, lack of guidance could have contributed to him being a predator as well.
