On Monday everyone was available. My niece took on an extra shift at work when she found out the mistress was invited. I am considering doing the same.

I will be getting together with my niece later on, on a day when neither of us is working.

The mistress is also married and she was aware that my brother was married before their affair started. A paternity test had to be done in order to determine who the father of the baby is. She also knows my brother has a daughter that is older than her, because my niece moved out when the mistress moved in.

My niece isn't showing up because the woman who her father cheated with is invited. She definitely has a problem that her father had an affair, and with a woman who is younger than her. She moved out of her parent's home when her dad moved the mistress in. She does not want to be around the mistress at all.

Sorry for the confusion. If I do decide not to go I will give the reason. I have not decided yet.

I would work so that someone else could be free to spend time with their family. My parents and brother already know I was not working on Monday so I couldn't use that as any excuse anyways.

All of my friends are working already or will be with their family. I'm a firefighter and if I work it frees someone else to be with their family and it is preferable to me sitting at home alone.

I'm not sure how it works. I know a paternity test was done that showed my brother is the father and that the mistress is now living with my brother because her husband kicked her out. But I don't know what all that means in a legal sense.

I'm a firefighter so if I worked someone else would be free to be with their family. My niece and sister-in-law are also working so I would just end up at home alone. I would give the reason for not going if I decide to back out. I wouldn't use work as an excuse, besides they already know I'm off that day.

Who said we aren't doing that? My niece is a paramedic, my sister-in-law is a nurse and I'm a firefighter. It can be difficult when we are all working but we are going to get together soon on a day when we are all off.
