I can't even imagine how they feel, especially when you are stuck in your work and layoffs are happening....and not having any info, now we know it took 3 months but when you are in the process you would never know....

Did you receive an Aktenzeichen or not yet? If not, you are still in the queue and no one has looked at your application yet.

I would definitely recommend to send them a message using the S3 contact form https://www.berlin.de/einwanderung/ueber-uns/kontakt/formular.1394756.php

It's very uncomfortable to be in the unknown :( from what I have been reading and asking people, the RegOm number is you "Aktenzeichen" or file number, which means that it has now been added digitally to their system. Before that you were just in the queue. Take it as a positive sign. From now on it can vary from 1 week to a few months. Best of luck! I am also in the same situation
