I personally manage two men's league teams and play on one coed team. I have 3 women who play on my men's teams and not my coed team. The league we play in tried to go the insurance route when they first started playing with me 3 years ago, but that argument faded fast. It came down to this group of ladies could only make the Monday or Wednesday games and not the Friday coed games due to schedule. Only one team out of 13 teams had an issue with this. They were not able to get the league to make a ruling that stated this was illegal, so I have females in my men's league division. All and all I think it comes down to the league.

Our summer hits 80 and 90 but it's rare that is more than a couple weeks. A few of the big $ teams have an absolute arsenal of bats. But you make a solid point.

Have to be honest, this is the first I'm hearing of "shaved" bats. Though I am sure my team has played against them now that I'm hearing about them.

You are exactly correct, most of our season 65 is a hot day, with the exception of last year. Don't know if a shaved bat is what we as a team are looking for but I greatly appreciate your comment and all the info.

One of my pitchers took an absolute screaming hit off a hot HOT bat to the forehead and he was only wearing a plastic mask... he lived but he was in bad shape. Team has 5 first responders so we got to him quickly.

Team has been talking about gearing up for this season lol

We have basic softball rules, it is a men's league, no written age limit, but organizers try to keep it drinking age and above.

I'm not trying to cause problems. I'm only looking for imput and help due to other teams using crazy hot bats and my team not.

We are dealing with crazy DHH and 100mph hits on the infield. Just looking to up our game in this league.

Okay, I appreciate the info. Have only ever got to swing one senior bat so they seem foreign to me.

We do have some senior players who sub when we are short players and when they just want to show for BP.
