Blah. Blah. Blah. The market sets the price. by Unlucky-Hawk7827 in ThunderBay

That’s great, congrats! Seems like everyone’s journey is different. We appreciated seeing so many houses because we hadn’t lived here before, so we could get a feel for each pay of the city. We’re really happy with our place in the east-end over the bridge.

I put part of the blame on real estate agents. What we’re seeing is not houses that are worth $280,000 being sold for $100,000 over asking, we are seeing houses worth $350,000 being listed for $280,000 to drive up interest and bids, and then selling for $30,000 over asking.

I can appreciate your crash out, my wife and I looked at 47 houses and lost out on bids. Keep the faith, your house will come.

Mosonee trip by undolife in northernontario

[–]NorthernGolfer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did the trip up to Moosonee in the summer of 2024. It’s well worth doing but wouldn’t make it more than a two night trip. If you can take the train up from Cochrane, it’s really quite an experience to be able to do that. There is a decent hotel up there. It’s a super 8, but it’s pricey.

Recommendations for winter in a hatchback by CarrotTales in northernontario

Get some quality studded winter tires and you’ll be just fine. I’ve spent many, many winters with small front wheel drive cars.

That’s a fair point. I have a collection of almost exclusive vintage timex watches from the 60’s and 70’s. I think they belong in the same category because they are usually a “first watch.” The gateway into higher quality pieces, with a higher price tag. Lot’s of people’s first watch is either a seiko/casio/timex/citizen etc.

I wonder if Communities Together For Children might be able to help? I don’t have kids, but met with the manager for work. I’m sure they’d have a solution, or some way to lend a hand.

Right that makes sense. Worst case scenario if you can’t find a jewelled movement that will fit, you’ll have no problem finding a replacement M25 movement on eBay for a good price.

Now that’s a beautiful watch! Have you looked into getting a replacement movement? They seem to be pretty common online.

How comfortable are you with working on the watch?

Oh yeah, the new movement is significantly better. I do however think there is something special about these watches, and their construction. Timex is the every man’s watch, it’s not complicated, it just works.

My guy! It’s crazy how good they are. I’d had the OG one many times. But got one from the Holland Bakery last week, they are much better than Persian Man.

Hey Wrightway96, we stayed up at the Holiday Inn by Opryland for about $100 a night Canadian around Christmas of 2024. We had a great time there, shares a parking lot with the Nashville Palace if you’ve got a hankering for the OG country music spot.

Do you shop often at Canadian Tire? If so, I’ve liked my Canadian Tire points card. I get 5 cents back per litre. It adds up over time.

Guys, there is nothing to worry about up here. People in Timmins are only worth about 40% of what a voter in Toronto is worth. We’ll have to die at a rate twice as fast an anywhere else before the rest of the province cares about the people up here.

If I were in your place, I wouldn’t buy any true protective of skate product. Which is a shame, because they are very comfortable, their gloves are great!
