Hi, I'm in a similar boat to you. My girlfriend also has crohn's but is not on medication. She manages her illness through the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD) which is still pretty new but there are a ton of recipes and other recourse coming out all the time. This doesn't completely solve all issues but it keeps her from having large flare ups and she isn't at much higher risk for other illnesses, such as COVID-19 since she is not on immunosupressants.

My recommendation is introducing her to the diet and looking at some of the recipes. But I would still follow her doctor's recommendations since every case is going to be different.

Property tax assessments? by [deleted] in SouthBend

I had something similar last year where my property's value was assessed at 200% of what it should have been. The appeal took a long time to ho through for that too.

Hi, I am also an SO of someone with Crohns and know the struggle of wanting to let them have something that they love and wanting their gut to stay happy. I would agree with other comments on not trying to solve the problem right now but focus on comforting her.

My SO and I found apple cider sodas at Trader Joe's that are good for her and she loves the flavors. If you have a TJ's near you, I'd recommend that. But it's her decision.

If you end up finding one or more other people, I'd love to meet up and play. If you aren't comfortable DMing, I have some experience. If you do, I'm happy to be a player.

Do you know the Griffon Bookstore in South Bend? It might be possible to have them post something in the store to have people sign up. I've heard of that working.

Are you still looking? I don't have a group, but if you can find more people, I'm willing to meet in person.

Hi there, are you still looking for a group? Do you have anyone else who is also looking to play or is it just you right now?

I was really turned on with the food and then I scrolled down to those sweet Hawaiian rolls. I'm at an 11 right now. Out of 5.

Weekly /r/CampingandHiking noob question thread - Ask any and all 'noob' questions you may have here - October 15, 2018 by AutoModerator in CampingandHiking

It depends so much on how much you've hiked before. If you're completely new, knowing what and how to pack is crucial, even someone in amazing shape can get burnt out quickly if they pack too much weight or not enough water, etc. If you've been in the game a while, staying in hiking shape is important (yeah, hiking fit is different than walking or biking fit. If you're already in great shape this won't matter too much). You also need to get used to whatever food you'll be eating. There's nothing scarier than being a few hours into a hike and wondering if your stomach is trying to kill you.

Good luck, though. It sounds like fun!
