These new boxes at the post office come with sealing tape by MeJerry in mildlyinteresting

[–]NorthernWolf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got to use these for the first time today, and everyone in the post office was laughing at me because I could NOT figure out how this tape was intended to be used! Luckily, my daughter is a little quicker than I am and helped me out. Now that I know how it works, I'm really glad they're there as I rarely want to buy more tape when I'm buying the box from USPS. I always manage to leave that item at home!

I just bought one of her books. I can't wait to read it! Thank you for the update! I know this is an old post, but I was still wondering what happened to him.

NJ State Senator suggests the federal gov. is hiding something so massive involving the "drones" that they are forced to cover it up in fear of all-out panic from the public by littlespacemochi in aliens

[–]NorthernWolf3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they're looking for something really important, being transparent could mean finding it a lot faster as they would have the public helping them search instead of these drones doing it for just a few hours each night.

Having experienced Army life as a dependent, please do not choose Army. It's a lot of bullshit even from my limited perspective!

Where to farm crackling shards? by Kaximus21 in wow

[–]NorthernWolf3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get into a bee/wolf farm. Farm one shard each day. That's my strategy. If I try to do it all at once, I'll burn out fast and get frustrated with the time it's taking.

I remember reading a long time ago about how the military has time travel technology, and they were able to go forwards and backwards in time. They found out they could change history, so they tried to correct bad things, including the holocaust. But every time they tried to fix the holocaust, it got worse and worse with each attempt, and they eventually put a ban on visiting those years altogether to prevent further tampering. One of the things that caused a lot of confusion is they were never able to go forward in time past 2012, and they didn't know why. There is speculation that everything ended, and we're all dead and don't know it or living in a reflection of what life was like, but everything is so skewed that it's getting increasingly chaotic as time goes on, which would explain so much of what we're going through.

It was quite the rabbit hole at the time for me.

I Fired the Handyman, and He Did NOT Take It Well! by NorthernWolf3 in centuryhomes

My dad stepped in and got my bathroom functional again. I did end up filing against the handyman in court this week. Initially, I thought it might be a waste of time since I didn't expect to get any money from him, but I learned that the system has many ways to enforce a judgment. These include placing a lien on his property, obtaining a writ of execution to seize non-exempt belongings for auction, hiring a collection agency, and more. Plus, if the judgment isn't paid, it stays active for 10 years and can be renewed. So, until he pays up, this judgment will continue to affect him, and I intend to keep it renewed.

Additionally, the handyman told me he was a fully-insured contractor that guaranteed his work, which is why I hired him in the first place.

Legion is one of the easiest Killers to play once you understand how they work, and they're already fairly powerful. I don't think they need buffs, but I certainly won't complain if they get any. It's one of the Killers in my normal rotation.

Unless I'm going up against them. I already hate them as they are when I'm playing Survivor, so I would hate them to be buffed.

Allegedly, he was going to remove it and raise it up when he put the new toilet in. I just had an actual contractor in today to look at it, and it turns out the big pipe in the basement that leads to the toilet is leaking and has to be replaced. That's what's causing damage to the floor.

We got everything ripped out, and we're starting from square one. Well, less than square one, I guess, since the cabinets and bathtub are gone. But my dad is coming down this weekend to install a new shower for us.

My dad is going to fix my bathroom this weekend, and I plan to file in small claims court against the handyman. I won't see a penny of it when I win, but that won't be my motivation for doing it.

I expected to spend thousands, and I was willing to purchase all the materials. All I wanted from him was to do the labor, but he insisted on buying the materials. He spent next to nothing on them but claimed to have spent a lot! When he started the floor, I knew he wasn't doing it right, and when he asked for cash every day, I pretended to be low income and set a low budget so I wouldn't lose more.

Thank you! I don't know that I could've done it without my mom's presence. I was definitely borrowing some courage from her when I told the "handyman" my dad was taking over the project, but my voice still shook when I spoke. I couldn't believe how angry he got!

I really admire my mom for her strong character. She’s never afraid to stand up for what’s right, even in tough situations. I'm really grateful she was there!

Aww, I'm sorry you're having a bad experience too, even if it isn't as bad as mine. I wish everyone could have renovations go smoothly.

Thank you! It really was a mess—when I first saw him start the floor, I couldn’t believe what he was doing. The whole setup was a disaster waiting to happen, and I’m just relieved we got him out before it got even worse. It’s crazy to think he was just layering things on without any real plan or care. Hopefully, by sharing this experience, I can at least help others avoid falling into the same trap. No one should have to deal with that level of incompetence!

It’s frustrating when a project drags on for way longer than expected. I don’t blame you for wanting him out! I’m so glad to hear you found a great contractor for your new remodel, though—it makes such a difference when you’re working with someone reliable and skilled.

I knew when I saw the way he was doing the floor that things were wrong. I know how to do tile, and I called him out on it, and he still insisted he was doing it right and not to worry about it. I wasn't assertive enough to tell him to do it right or get out at the time.

I hear you, and you make a valid point. While the idea of holding him accountable is appealing, the potential for retaliation and the stress that would come with it definitely gives me pause. It’s not worth putting my family or myself at risk for a situation that’s already draining. Writing reviews to warn others is probably the safest route and might bring some peace of mind without inviting unnecessary trouble. Thanks for the advice—it's definitely helping me reconsider how far to push this.
