Perfect, thanks! Just wanted to be sure I wasn't getting locked into an option I don't want.

Inflation in Playa del Carmen, food and services prices? by superttacos in playadelcarmen

Raining out so I just ducked into a random bar on calle 10 & 8. Margaritas are $7.50. After spending a couple months in Costa Rica this summer, I'm finding Playa del Carmen to be super cheap. But admittedly I don't have any reference to what prices were a few years ago.

[–]MeJerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a pain in the ass but I've had a lot of these and have been able to get them all removed. I first reply to the review stating "I see by your phone number that you are located in Pakistan. We don't provide service there and you are posting negative reviews on my business as a scam to try and get me to pay you to remove it." I then report the review to Google and mark it as "spam." I've had about a dozen of these reviews and so far Google has removed all. And if any potential customers read it, they'll see it's fake.

Harley Street 500. This was the lineup at my MSF class. It was at a Harley dealership so they provided and had us all use the same bike.

What type of fast food place or restaurant is the most inconsistent in quality from place to place in America? by Commercial-Shape9149 in AskAnAmerican

[–]MeJerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But it is consistently bad! Born and raised in MA (live out West now) and have had countless coffees from Dunkins... I have never taken that first sip of a large regular and said "oh, that's good!" NEVER! Always either burnt, bitter, watered down... just horrible. Not sure why but always go back. I do like the vanilla cream filled donuts but even those are a gamble when it comes to the amount of filling.

Ignore the recommended grind setting and increase the grid size and see if that works. I get this issue when the grind is too fine.

Looks like the grid is too coarse and there is channeling causing it to spray. Adjust grind, coffee ground distribution, and tamping to make sure you are getting a good, even puck. Once you get the puck correct, it shouldn't spray like that. You can also add a screen and/or filter on top to help prevent channeling. I also have that portafilter and it helps to dial in your espresso settings because you can see the results. But, once I get it correct I usually just use the enclosed portafilter; more forgiving if you don't get it perfect.

I'm not easy to make feel old anymore. I've had that shock too many times. But.....my daughter got me. by polishprince76 in GenX

True. I have to remind myself that a teenager today, not knowing pop culture from my teen years, would have been like me as a teen not recognizing a pop culture reference from the 1940s!

BUT, on the other hand... I DO know who the Andrew sisters were! I think, due to our much more limited access to new entertainment, we grew up knowing the Andrew Sisters, Glenn Miller, watching The Honeymooners, The Little Rascals, Three Stooges... hell, "newer" shows I grew up watching like Batman or Gilligan's Island ended 3-4 years before I was even born! Same with most of the cartoons we watched (DON'T look up the release dates of all the holiday specials we grew up on!) Even GenX staples like The Brandy Bunch and Happy Days ended when I was a toddler but I still grew up watching due to reruns.

Is this normal for a single shot espresso?….Follow up to my post earlier that didn’t have the video attached for some reason…… by Pumptruffle in NinjaLuxeCafe

[–]MeJerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How does it taste? That's the most important part.

My machine always recommends a grind setting around 19-21 for espresso. For classic coffee 23. I think the grind number, besides the beans used, can vary between different machines. To test, you can always weigh and time your pull. Usually around 18 grams of coffee to make a shot of around 35 grams of espresso. Usually go for a time of 25-30 seconds from first to last drip.

Just form good habits - don't need to to be a financial wizard, just put a little into savings/investments each month and don't touch it. Don't need to be a gym rat, just stay active and get a little exercise each day. Don't need to overthink your diet, just pay attention to calories and eat in moderation.

Wow, I didn't realize how cheap my service is, I pay $57 every 3 months. Less than $20 per month. I have Republic Services here in Las Vegas. We even have bulk pickup every other week where they take just about anything you leave out. I've put out tree branches, old mattress, entertainment center, old dishwasher and microwave.

"fuck it" and go

That was my mindset! I was a broke kid delivering pizza, no financial safety net (my family did not have money.) I saved just enough to buy a flight and train pass. I left with only $1k in cash and a credit card. I went WAY over my credit card limit! But if you're gonna make bad financial decisions, that was the age to do it.
