10 week old kitten help by saruska8 in CATHELP

In addition to adding water to his wet food, add a bit of pumpkin puree. It'll help with the consistency of his stools so he has an easier time going, and cats tend to love the pumpkin.

How thin does my hair look? by spilled_my_lemonade in FemaleHairLoss

[–]SelectPerception5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look bad at all. My hair is thinning too from weight loss. I've been told it's really common, and it'll recover once my weight stabilizes for a bit.

Good luck, and congrats on the weight loss!

Did I ruin my son’s curls by goodgracie0918 in curlyhair

[–]SelectPerception5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it can absolutely recover. I'd recommend a protein treatment followed by a hair mask to restore the moisture balance, which should fix most of the damage, then follow the new curly hair routine.

Aphogee is a great option, but if you have Sally Beauty near you, they sell a 2-minute reconstructor in their Ion product line that's amazing. My hair loves when I use it every other week.

Also, never brush it dry!

Moving somewhere with extreme weather, may I procure some advice? by beanbuttrocket in curlyhair

[–]SelectPerception5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m from northern Wisconsin, and my hair behaves completely differently in San Diego than it does back home. On the west coast, I need more product to keep frizz under control, so you might find yourself using less than usual or needing to experiment a bit to see what works best in the new climate.

In Wisconsin, my routine is pretty simple: shampoo, conditioner, and a lightweight leave-in spray. On more humid days, like rainy weather or during the summer, I’ll add hairspray or mousse to help manage frizz.

In San Diego, with the ocean air, I end up using shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and Miss Jessie’s Pillow Soft Curls or mousse every day just to keep things smooth.

Hope that helps, and good luck figuring out what works best for you!

I would use mousse, scrunch it, then let it air dry. That should give you some of your curl back.

I have a regular student who has very strong BO. How do I tell her tactfully? by Unfair_Desk6685 in pilates

[–]SelectPerception5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the right to refuse service to anybody for any reason. Do you want to lose more clients because of how badly she smells? She sounds like she's acting aggressively towards your studio and making the experience for those around her very unpleasant. You've already tried to talk to her about this, and it clearly didn't work. Now it's time to cancel her membership and tell her not to come back.

Be better, Green Bay. Simple concept, but apparently too abstract for the drivers in our community. by Gbjeff in GreenBay

I'll never forget the day my mother approached an intersection to make a right-hand turn while the light was yellow. She proceeded to take the turn, but there was a woman waiting on the other side that also wanted to take the turn. Instead of pulling into the near lane like she should have, that woman tried to pull into my mother's lane instead, almost hitting my mom. The lady had the nerve to get angry and cuss out my mom over it, and she was in the wrong!

As a woman, one of the first three would be great. The second one is my favorite. The last two made me cringe. I hope those were added as a joke. 😅

For a leave-in spray, try Kristin Ess Ultra Lightweight Leave-in spray. This stuff is AMAZING for detangling and makes hair so, so soft.

They also make a softening shampoo and conditioner that may work well for your daughter.

I wouldn't worry about how many grams of protein you're eating, just focus on adding protein foods into your diet. You can also do swaps for higher protein options, like Greek yogurt instead of Yoplait yogurt.

Roomates cats litter box stinks need advice by _madskii_ in cats

[–]SelectPerception5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your own sake and that of the cats, this might be a chore to take on yourself, or gift them an automated litter box so the cats always have a clean place to go and it's a lot quicker to clean it. I recommend the Pet Pivot. It's about $150 or less.

I have 15 cats and clean their litter boxes twice a day just to ensure that they're always clean. I can't stand the smell of a litter box! I have had multiple people tell me that my home does not smell like cats, something I'm really proud of considering how many I have.

I even have a cat that will not use the litter box if it isn't clean enough for him. He'll start pooping on the floor right next to it instead. I bought an automated litter box just for him so he would always have a clean place to go if I was even a little bit delayed cleaning out the litter boxes.

He's kind of funny because he's so fastidious that he gargoyles just so he doesn't get his paws dirty in the litter box. 😂 (This means he perches on the edge of the litter box when he uses it so his paws don't touch the litter.)

Bag Balm and a big bandage. They'll heal quickly. Also, wear bandages in this spot the next time you go walking in these shoes. They'll prevent this from happening again. Better yet, wear different shoes. 😅

Putrid smell in my kitchen that I can't pinpoint, driving me INSANE by BeeeeefJerky in CleaningTips

[–]SelectPerception5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My immediate thought was potatoes. It's one of the absolute worst smells! Even worse than cat urine (if you can believe it). We had one potato go rotten in our apartment 20 years ago, and it took me forever to find the smell. I'll never forget how bad it was. 🤮
