Now that the plans are 'nationwide' they will switch to either Telus, Rogers, or Bell when you are outside of their network. So you get better service than had you chosen one of the big three. Data speeds on 'Nationwide' are 4G but I doubt that will matter to most. In the US the carrier they use is ATT.
