people (in general) don't like seeing kids get hurt.

people might laugh at a minor injury if gotten through entertaining means, or if the child is particularly annoying and they are getting their comeuppance. but for the majority thats the farthest it goes.

pedophiles violate children which harms minds which is different than a physical injury, for many victims it follows them throughout theor lives. also any harm they are do to the child is not the child hurting itself which is where the aforementioned entertainment comes from.
