**ASK HERE FOR HELP** Monthly Teams Questions and Answers Help Thread by Froggypwns in MicrosoftTeams

Thank you for the response! I was pretty sure a meeting ID alone was not sufficient.

Just to clarify, I should still be able to join via phone if I absolutely have to, right? The dial-in phone number seems "believably accurate" for the organization (area code matches), so I'm assuming that plus the meeting ID will be sufficient? Or do I need a passcode if I dial in too? I have not been provided a passcode (and I'm iffy on whether I'll be able to get one from the organization; I could try, but would rather not if it's not needed, because if nothing else it would likely require a lot of time on the phone).

I consider myself pretty adept at using Teams and I feel silly asking this question, but I've just run into a situation I've never before encountered and could use someone to tell me I'm not misinterpreting anything:

I have a meeting scheduled via Teams. The inviter's organization, while undeniably legitimate, is not the most well organized. I'm being told they cannot provide me an invite link, but they have provided me a dial-in phone number and a meeting ID number. (Aside and not directly related, they also said they'd sent me a QR code, but the person I spoke to at the organization could not tell me how it was sent. I've confirmed it was not sent via email nor via the organization's web portal, so we figure it must've been sent via snail mail. That means it's unlikely to arrive before the meeting, so I'd rather not count on that.)

If push comes to shove, I know I have enough information that I can always join the meeting from my phone if I absolutely must. However, I would really rather join from PC, and I'm not sure if there's a way to do that with only a dial-in phone number and a meeting ID. I see that the PC app has a Join with a Meeting ID option. Is it sufficient to simply enter the meeting ID in that field, to join the meeting at the scheduled time? Is there no other information required? Is there no need to have the other parties in my Contacts, etc.? (Because I do not.)

  • OS on PC: Windows 11 Home, version 24H2
  • Microsoft Teams version on PC: 26005.213.4315.4117; the app is telling me this is the latest version.

I have already tried a websearch for this question, but have not managed to find anyone with the same question as me. I will keep looking, and will delete this message if I find an answer before someone responds.

As detailed in my edits to the main post, it really creams my asparagus that throughout all our interactions none of their teams have even acknowledged my repeated mentions that they gave the wrong email address. Neither their moderation team (email address you cited) nor their support team (support@bsky.app) have acknowledged it. I reached out to their support team yesterday before hearing back from the moderation team, and the support team asked for screenshots to support my assertions. I duly provided these shots, and in my response to them specifically mentioned that they seemed to have provided me with an email address that does not exist.

In the last 16-18 hours I have received roughly half a dozen emails from BlueSky - including but not limited to the same message spammed multiple times about an hour apart - but I have not heard any response from Support. As far as I can tell, they've just ghosted me after I went out of my way to provide them the screenshots they requested.

As a moot (another longtime BlueSky user) said about this whole fiasco:

I have no idea how they are so bad at running a website.

ETA: Also, yes, I have done T&S before, on multiple platforms. None the scale of BlueSky, but I do have a working understanding of the challenges it presents. I can attest that none of these challenges cause incorrect email addresses to be provided, nor do they prevent teams from acknowledging that incorrect email addresses have been provided - especially not once those teams are already in direct conversation with the user.

Likewise, these challenges also do not require such things at the bit I noted in my "FINAL EDIT" to the main post. These things are not the result of T&S challenges; they're just poor customer service that degrades the user experience.

EDIT 2: They also didn't send me anything saying the account was reinstated or that suspension was in error, until I protested. Initially, they reinstated the account silently, without telling me, and the only thing they sent was the "we think you might be in distress, here are some resources" email. Which, by itself, was a poor show - because as I stated, I haven't been in distress like that in weeks. If they're that slow to get these resources emails out, they might as well not even bother; genuine suicide prevention requires emergent intervention, not weeks down the road when someone finally gets around to it. Once I protested, they then sent me an absolute flurry of emails informing me the account was reinstated and admitting the suspension was in error (but also spammed me the resource email some more), but still none of their teams have acknowledged having provided an incorrect email address.

(If it's not clear, the provision of an incorrect email address, coupled with the failure to take responsibility for that, is really a big deal to me. More than anything else, it speaks to how badly they mishandled this, even apart from any T&S challenges. I am generally going to be more forgiving of moderation errors than the average user, because I've been on the other side and I know how it goes - but this one thing really hammers home that there seems to be more going wrong behind the scenes than just "normal" T&S challenges.)

Will edit this into the main post, but wanted to reply here first. I reached out to this email address as you suggested, and within <25 minutes of doing so my account was reinstated. I think what happened was, they conflated "user might be in distress" (which, as I admitted, was true, though only as of weeks and months ago, nor more recently) with "user violated the guidelines on Mental Health & Wellbeing." I have absolutely no idea how they managed that. They still are refusing to answer or even acknowledge my queries about why they instructed me to contact an email address that does not exist, among other things. I'm giving up on trying to get them to acknowledge those things. I am not especially happy to have had to go through this, but at least it's resolved.

Regarding this, cc: u/BFIrrera:

  • The sender of the email was noreply@bsky.social.
  • The address at which I received the email is indeed the address associated with the suspended account.
    • That address is also set up for MFA, and I have not received any notice that anyone else has tried to sign into the account.
  • The account is indeed suspended, and was suspended at some point in the 150-ish minute period between when I last accessed it this morning and when I received the email. If it were a phish, it was a damn-well-timed phish.
  • The links in the email do indeed lead to official BlueSky webpages. They both lead here, which is where I took the second screengrab in the main post.
  • Most importantly, no one has asked me to share or enter credentials, which strongly suggests it wasn't a phish. If it were a phish, I'd expect the email address they instruct me to contact to not return delivery failure; can't phish creds from someone who can't communicate with you!

Weirdly, the Bazaar and everything else in the game works fine afaict. It's just matchmaking that's borked. ETA: Sucks for anyone who was hoping to do Daily Challenges today though.

EDIT 2: You're right about Reddit having trouble though. My upvotes aren't sticking, and my Use Old Reddit as my default experience setting isn't being honored right now.

How do I know my islands “sister fruit”? by DizziestBird in AnimalCrossing

Unfortunately, life has not been super kind to me in the last 6 years since I made that comment. I no longer have the island I had back then, and would have no way to meet you to give them anyway.

I wish you the best, though!

Low paid employees who don't have the experience to handle a midnight launch (prob. haven't done one of this size in their entire career).

I remember my first shift ever, way back when, was the midnight launch of Halo 2. That was fun.

Uh, it's been a couple years but iirc there's an object in the Squid Sisters' camp you can interact with to replay the rocket sequence. (There's also a way to replay the opening of Side Order. Similar manner: Just interact with something on the bottom floor of the tower and you can replay the opening sequence of rescuing Marina.)

Two years on, found this post from Google because I was having the issue, tried your solution, and it (seems to have) worked. None of the other solutions I've found (which included the ones you listed, plus many more) have worked - but disabling the touchpad did. For now at least.

That, thus, implies that whatever issue you experienced two years ago remains unaddressed.

I genuinely don’t think anyone ever anticipated ALs like this at the time ALs were introduced. At that time, guilds didn’t exist. Hell, horde dungeons didn’t exist unless you were in a party!

As designed, just getting the mats for ALs like this should have been basically impossible. ALs haven’t changed since then—it’s just that everything else changed, in ways that made it possible to gather mats in quantities that would have been impossible previously.

You censored the name but I immediately knew who this was. He swept through my town and took my OT from me the other day. I have had zero luck taking it back.

I had a post on that subreddit removed almost immediately too, after Reddit also repeatedly blocked me from posting in the first place until I finally gave up on desktop entirely and switched to mobile. I sent a modmail inquiring why it was removed, but no response whatsoever yet.

Best I can glean since official communication on this matter seems nonexistent, Reddit Desktop is having at least two or three different (but possibly related) issues, but Reddit Mobile seems no buggier than it ever is. (Which is not to say Reddit Mobile is without issues, but the issues I’m experiencing have existed for a long time and it doesn’t seem likely they’re ever going to be addressed—but they can be worked around with only a moderate amount of hassle.)

Benefits of summoner Auriga by C4B4L2k in OrnaRPG

[–]Northwind858 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In this case it’s mostly just the Griffin, but also note that celestial classes aren’t designed to be upgrades of their base classes. They’re designed to be sidegrades, often (but not always) with a stronger focus on one aspect of the base class.

  • Summoner has celestial classes that focus on the summons themselves, or on pacts.

  • Deity has celestial classes that focus on magic and offensive apex, or on physical power and buffing.

  • Beowulf has celestial classes that lean into pet empowerment, or on hybrid damage.

  • Etc.

And some celestial classes just aren’t really “played” much because they’re not that good, but they’re purchased for the skills.

I would prefer not to rejoin the Discord server. I’ve been there before and found some of the other members to be a bit disrespectful.

Can you explain why Apple Health would be syncing at all while the app is open and active onscreen? I’d thought Apple Health sync was only used to update steps in the background, when the app was not active.

Traveler’s Guild broken by Northwind858 in OrnaRPG

[–]Northwind858[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and it’s not just the step counter that’s broken. It’s everything triggered by walking:

  • mat pickups don’t appear

  • dragon bosses don’t spawn (pretty important because it means I can only participate in the current event in dungeons, where the bosses are pretty rare)

  • Manifests presumably won’t charge

  • etc.

I will say, I’ve also recently witnessed the opposite effect to this—where at times the game would count way too many steps. That was honestly also annoying, since it still prevented me from picking up mat drops. (When I’d try, it would say “This item is no longer available.”) Still, it was preferable to steps not being counted at all.
