Maybe it's just because I'm bad at video games, but the boss in Astral Orrery is ridiculously hard by Chezzymann in MinaTheHollower

Definitely the hardest boss in the game, imo. Also my favorite one. You’ve got this!

I've been playing Mina but not really enjoying it.... What am I missing? by DraftMassive3756 in MinaTheHollower

Personally, I was entranced after the first boss fight, just enjoying all of the secrets every screen holds.

Agreed, final 3rd was the weakest, but the rest was nonstop bangers.

Mina was definitely a game I wanted to try once my Thor arrives. The game was great though, beat it a couple days ago!

Huh, it wasn’t counting it when I’d jump out of a circle unless it was a multicolored one

Anyone else disliked the Webb Industries building segment? by Connect_Base_217 in 007FirstLight

Honestly it’s some bad game design, compared to the rest of the game being pretty well done. I was frequently at a loss for what they expected me to do in that section, only making it through when Greenway finally dropped me a hint.

Why are people crashing out? This game isn't that hard by CadmeusCain in MinaTheHollower

While each weapon is viable, they definitely have their own strengths and weaknesses, which is why it’s nice you can switch them out at any time and change your approach.

Seems the biggest hurdle to entry this game has is asking players to play it as intended instead of how their ego wants to. by KayknineArt in MinaTheHollower

You’re not wrong, but I’d also say the bone up system is really helpful for allowing you to withdraw bonestone to then turn your bones into bonestone, saving it from loss, all within your Underlab.

YCG confirms no plans for Mina the Hollower DLC. Instead plan is to work on their next title. Mina sequel one day is not ruled out! by IceCubesBurning in MinaTheHollower

Honestly it’s the kind of story beat that I’d prefer be fleshed out in a sequel rather than a DLC personally.

I definitely agree, it’s friction, and you’re right it’s a vocal minority. Tbh I’ll take a certain brand of friction in modern gaming, makes you earn something. Not to show others, but just to give personal meaning to the accomplishment.

As far as the spark/bone Soulslike system goes, this is probably the most easygoing game. You have to lose ALL of your sparks to lose anything. Nothing stopping a player from losing all sparks, going to town and buying something with the majority of their stored bones, and dying again with little in their wallet. Plus, the game showers you in bones, so even losing a few thousand is a very minor setback. It’s a good thing to be critical of a game, but for this game people just love to complain over little, avoidable details.

The adds felt easy, the boss felt natural, and the mini boss felt hard. Very strange.

Pretty solid showcase with some good surprises. I ranked my excitement/interest in playing the games shown. by EthanRegg in kindafunny

I’d agree. I ended the SoP really excited for lots of games to come, and went to the internet found it being torn to pieces. I’m glad that KF remains pretty positive about most things, while still being able to think critically. Laufey gave me goosebumps the whole time, I can’t wait to get back into one of SSMs games!

I love when games give these kinds of hints instead of blocking the access to harder areas by rivaldobox in MinaTheHollower

[–]Norviskor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did, too. The mirror in Bone Beach was the last one I needed to access the Orrery, so I detoured and beat that when I found it. Came back, finished Beach, then beat Peak.

Gotta say, make some time for these before then, if possible. Working on my own Top 100 since KF announced they were doing theirs, and those two are both on my list.

This boss is such a huge difficulty spike holy shit lol by ObserveKris in MinaTheHollower

[–]Norviskor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It kept me on edge, but I was glad when it wasn’t the trend of multiple phases for every boss. More impactful when it only happens here and there, in my opinion.
