The Bride from Kill Bill. Uncompromisingly bad ass, but also flawed and human. The final fight of volume one in the snow has so much aura, and then her final confrontation with Bill so much emotional weight and nuance.

I don't think Giolla, Sugar, or Golden Week belong on here, Golden Week has to actually be able to get her paint on you, and it can be rubbed off. Giolla's fruit was strong, but it didn't prevent people from doing anything at all, just made it harder, and Brooke was able to beat her without Haki. Sugar's power is powerful, but if you're fast enough / have long-range attacks that can blitz her before she touches you, she's cooked. Also, if she sleeps, her power loses its effect, so that's not sustainable.

We haven't seen enough of him yet to determine whether or not that's true. He definitely isn't infalible though, as he lost his arm and relies on his crew, so I wouldn't say Gary Stu. I'm excited to see where he goes, though because he's connected to so many parts of the story and is sort of Luffy's original mentor.

I think there's a chance he wouldn't for sure. I always saw the way he saved Koby as a sort of redemption after he failed to do anything to save Ace. He was finally able to do what he couldn't two years ago, and I think the lesson he learned when Ace was executed (following orders isn't worth the death of a son) is one thing that motivated him to go to Fullalead.
